You will learn how to prepare floral foam, condition your stems, and use foliage to create a clean, balanced base for your arrangements. It is not just about making something look nice for the moment, but understanding the techniques that ensure your work stays fresh and structured. Floral design is a skill you develop, not a talent you are born with. Whether you are looking to start a new career or simply want to find a creative hobby, our beginner courses are designed to take the intimidation out of the process. We provide all the fresh inventory—Roses, Orchids, Carnations—and walk you through every cut and placement in our Mumbai studio. ### What you learn in our beginner sessions: - **Flower Conditioning:** Understanding how to keep your blooms fresh and hydrated longer. - **Foam Mechanics:** How to soak, fix, and hide your base so the structure remains invisible. - **Structural Design:** Learning the basics of balance, proportion, and color so your arrangements have a professional finish. We keep our batches small so that every student gets direct feedback on their hand positioning and technique. You will walk away with a piece you created, having gained the actual skill to start your journey in floristry. We have spent 14 years teaching students who started not knowing a lily from a rose, and we love watching that moment when the technique finally clicks. Come by, pick up some flowers, and let us help you get started. ## About Institute of Floral Design We are IFD, and we have been teaching floral design for 14 years.
