The magic actually happens in the improvisation, where characters like Kokila Ajji react to the audience in real time. Whether she is roasting a guest or Dinku is asking a cheeky question about local life, the show feels less like a performance and more like a conversation with old friends. When I bring Kokila Ajji on stage, she is not just a puppet in a saree; she is that sassy grandmother we all know who has a witty remark for every situation. Then there is Dinku, the charming, witty boy who acts as my playful foil, keeping the energy high. My crew also includes Tata, the lovable and forgetful grandfather who adds a layer of nostalgia and gentle wisdom to the act. What makes these performances stick is the connection. Whether I am performing at a tech company’s family day or an intimate housewarming in Bengaluru, the goal is always to create a shared moment. I do not rely solely on pre-recorded tracks; the laughter comes from live, observational humor that adapts to who is sitting in the room. If you are planning an event, these characters act as bridges. They break the ice at corporate gatherings by mocking common office tropes, or they lighten the mood at family milestones by roasting the guest of honor in a way that feels affectionate rather than awkward. Because I perform in both Kannada and English, the shows bridge the gap between generations, letting the children laugh at Dinku’s mischief while the elders connect with Ajji’s observations on life. It is never just a puppet show. It is a conversation, a bit of cultural exchange, and a lot of heart. ## About Indushree Raveendra I'm Indushree, a ventriloquist who believes that puppets often have more to say than people. When I am on stage with Dinku, Kokila Ajji, or Tata, we are not just putting on a routine; we are sharing a piece of my life and home with you.
