I use specialized fusing canvas on necklines and belts to give soft, vintage silk the structure needed for a modern jumpsuit or gown, and finish everything with high-grade YKK concealed zippers so your heirloom stays secure and comfortable for years. Transforming a saree is about honoring the history of the cloth while making it functional for today. Whether it is a heavy Banarasi that feels too formal for a casual event or a soft silk that has seen better days, I approach each piece as a rescue mission. ### How the transformation works - **Pattern Engineering:** I study the borders, the pallu, and the body of your saree to decide the best silhouette. Often, the pallu becomes the center panel or the yoke of a dress to ensure the most intricate work is highlighted. - **Structural Support:** Vintage sarees are often delicate. I apply high-quality fusing canvas and butter crepe or shantoon lining. This prevents the fabric from tearing at stress points and gives your new jumpsuit or lehenga the clean lines it needs to look modern rather than home-made. - **Finishing touches:** Every garment is overlocked to prevent fraying.
