Her passion for creating unique, client-focused spaces has shaped our firm's journey to excellence. We don't do 'cookie-cutter' designs; we create environments that truly reflect you.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/4a013a88-5e8a-4c44-8490-c30de529d2a4) ## About Meet Our Founder When you meet Amrita, the conversation is rarely just about color palettes or furniture trends. She starts by observing how you live, asking about your daily routines, and noting the small habits that define your day. This focus on the psychology of your environment is how she ensures the final result is not just a showroom, but a home that functions seamlessly for your specific lifestyle. Amrita started I M Design & Development with a clear mission: to move away from cookie-cutter designs that look the same in every home. She argues that your surroundings dictate your mood, which is why her approach centers on what she calls the 'psychology of space'. Our process is entirely collaborative. We take the lead from your initial sketches through to the final handing over of keys, meaning you do not have to juggle multiple vendors or worry about small details falling through the cracks. We lean heavily into biophilic design—integrating natural light, greenery, and raw materials like wood and stone—to create a sense of harmony between your indoor life and the outside world. Whether we are working on a cozy city apartment, a sprawling farmhouse, or a functional office space, our aim remains the same. We focus on craft and functionality, designing custom-made furniture and thoughtful layouts that solve real problems. Our work has been featured in Architecture+Design Magazine, which highlights our commitment to pushing beyond standard aesthetics to create something truly personal. If you want a space that feels like a sanctuary and works for your actual life, we are here to help. ## About I M Design & Development Amrita Maitra founded I M Design & Development to ensure that interior design puts your personality first.
