We run the HGCA Cup, our internal tournament, because I know that practice only takes you so far. When you play a real match—with boundaries, fielders, and the pressure of a scoreboard—that is when you actually learn how to handle the game. We have been running this academy for five years now, and the biggest lesson I have learned is that cricket is best played with others. Whether it is our anniversary celebrations or the HGCA Cup, these events are about creating a space where players can move from simple drills to real game situations. ### Why Match Experience Matters Most academies focus only on bowling and batting drills. While that is important, you cannot learn how to set a field or manage a run chase in a practice net. Our tournaments give students in Kandivali a chance to test their skills under pressure. We keep the environment competitive but supportive, so you learn to handle the nerves before you step onto the big stage. ### Building a Community We celebrate our milestones—like our five-year anniversary—by playing cricket. It brings parents, coaches, and students together. My goal is to create a culture where the love for the game is just as important as the technique. If you are looking for a place where you can train hard, compete in real tournaments, and be part of a team that actually plays, you will find it here. We focus on discipline and the fundamentals, but we make sure the game stays fun. ## About Homeground Cricket Academy I started this place because I know how tough it is to get decent match practice in Mumbai. We are building a community here where we train hard but keep the pressure off, just like I did when I was coming up in the local cricket scene.
