As a kid from Borivali-Kandivali, travelling for hours just for 15 minutes of batting was tough. That's why I focused on making the best pitches right here. Even KKR has practiced on them, which shows their quality. My goal is simple: to find talent here and help them play for the country.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/4254963c-bce3-464f-8dd0-73cc064112ac) - [Video: It was an honour to host Australian legend Brett Lee at our academy. While most local academies rely on matting or cement, we maintain professional-grade red soil turf wickets. When you practice here, you face the same bounce and turn you will encounter in competitive matches, which builds the real-game confidence that basic net sessions just cannot provide. I started this academy with one goal: to fix the frustration I faced as a kid. Growing up in Borivali, I would spend hours traveling to Churchgate or Dadar, dragging a heavy kit bag, just to get fifteen minutes of batting time. I wanted to build a place in Kandivali where local kids could get the same facilities without the commute. ### Why Our Setup is Different We don't just offer nets; we offer a training ground. Our wickets are maintained to the standard where IPL teams have trained. This means the ball behaves exactly as it would on a match day, forcing you to develop proper footwork and decision-making. ### The Training Philosophy Our coaching mantra is simple: 'Are tension mat le, ball ko aane de!' (Don't stress, let the ball come!). We combine high-intensity skill work with: * **Cricket-Specific Fitness:** Using resistance bands, agility ladders, and medicine balls to build explosive power, not just bulk. * **Mental Conditioning:** Workshops on focus, anxiety control, and handling pressure. * **Match Exposure:** We push for slots in MCA-affiliated tournaments like the Kanga League and Giles Shield to ensure your training translates to real results. Whether you are a beginner looking to understand the basics of stance and grip or an advanced player needing video analysis for technique correction, we have a batch for you. We provide the infrastructure; you bring the discipline. If you are ready for the grind, this is your home ground. ## About Homeground Cricket Academy I am Paul Valthaty. I built this academy to ensure local kids don't have to sacrifice their energy on hours of travel just for a few minutes of practice. We focus on the grind, the discipline, and the quality of your training so you can actually get somewhere in the game.
