## About Real Talk: Motherhood Myths & Truths

If you’re being told to jump into crunches to fix your 'mummy tummy' or that you should 'sleep when the baby sleeps,' take a breath. Most of the advice floating around is outdated and, frankly, risky for your pelvic floor and core. My approach starts with 360-degree breathing and core-safe movements that respect your actual recovery timeline, not a celebrity's.

You’ve probably heard it all: 'Just do sit-ups to flatten that stomach,' or 'Don't eat chola (chickpeas) while breastfeeding.' It is exhausting to sift through so much conflicting gyan (advice). I went through a 44-hour labor and an emergency C-section, and I know exactly how isolated you can feel when the 'perfect motherhood' narrative doesn't match your reality.

Let’s tackle the biggest myths:

The 'bounce-back' pressure: Society loves showing you celebrity recovery timelines. But your body is busy healing tissues, regulating hormones, and often feeding a human. Vigorous, high-impact exercise before you are ready can worsen Diastasis Recti and pelvic floor dysfunction. I prioritize consistency over intensity, focusing on functional strength that actually helps you pick up your baby without back pain.

The 'just eat less' trap: Whether you are breastfeeding or not, your body needs nutrient-dense fuel to recover. Extreme calorie restriction, especially when you are sleep-deprived, is counter-productive. My nutrition plans for new moms focus on real food that sustains your energy levels.

The emotional rollercoaster: You can love your baby deeply and still grieve your old life or feel overwhelmed. You don't have to 'soak in every moment' if that moment is spent crying in a dark nursery. It is okay to be tired. It is okay to ask for help. My goal is to equip you with the facts—and the empathy—you need to navigate the fourth trimester and beyond without feeling like you’re doing it wrong. Let’s focus on long-term health, not short-term perfection.
