In these sessions, we move beyond basic outlines; we focus on anatomy, pressure control, and layering. You will learn to stop simply copying a reference photo and start understanding the structure beneath the skin, so your sketches carry real weight and emotion. ### Beyond the Basics: The Hema's Hues Approach Many students come to me having mastered basic drawing but feeling stuck when it comes to realism. Portraiture is a practice of patience and observation. My approach in these advanced sessions is not to rush to a finished drawing, but to spend time on the groundwork. ### What We Focus On * **Anatomy & Proportions:** Understanding the skeletal structure and facial muscles helps you draw faces that look like people, not caricatures. * **Shading & Texture:** Whether it is graphite or charcoal, I teach you how to use blending stumps and cross-hatching to create depth, from the softness of skin to the coarseness of hair. * **Lighting:** We study how light hits the face, teaching you to create dramatic contrast that brings a 2D surface to life. ### Why Choose This Path? Art is a personal journey. Whether you are preparing for a portfolio, an art exam, or simply want to find a quiet space to focus after a long week, my studio in Mumbai provides the environment to do that. We don't just focus on the 'how-to'; we look at the 'why'. We analyse reference work, study old masters, and build your confidence stroke by stroke. These sessions are designed for serious learners who want to take their artistic skills to the next level. If you are ready to put in the time to see real progress in your shading and character studies, I am ready to guide you. ## About Hema's Hues Academy I’m Hema.
