In our classes, we move beyond basic practice sheets, working instead on usable items like tote bags, silk scarves, and cushion covers so you can walk away with something you’ll actually use. Fabric painting gives your old clothes a fresh lease on life. It is a rewarding skill that combines patience with creative expression. In our 12-session course, I walk you through the entire process: starting with the basics of color theory specifically for textiles, moving on to working with dark versus light-colored fabrics, and finally mastering brush strokes like the one-stroke floral technique. We don't just focus on theory. You will work on professional projects, ensuring you learn how to handle different textures like cotton, silk, and canvas. Whether you want to master stenciling or freehand floral composition, the course is designed to help you build the confidence to create your own designs. For those who aren't looking to pick up a brush themselves, I also take custom commissions for sarees, kurtis, and shirts. From traditional Kathakali motifs to simple, elegant floral patterns, every piece is painted with the same level of care I would give to my own art. Our studio in Prabhadevi provides a relaxed space to experiment, make mistakes, and eventually, wear what you create. ## About Hema's Hues Academy I’m Hema, and I believe art is meant to be lived in, not just hung on a wall.
