I do this because capturing that genuine look of love often requires a little patience and a second go, especially when we are navigating complex ballroom lighting or the natural nerves that come with being in front of a crowd. Reception and engagement photography is less about the rituals and more about the atmosphere. For these events, I prioritize lighting that complements the decor, whether it is the warm glow of fairy lights in an outdoor setting or the dramatic, controlled lighting required for a grand ballroom entry. My approach avoids the awkward, static posing you might expect. Instead, I look for the moments between the moments. This might be a quick, private joke shared between the two of you, the way your families interact, or that split second of excitement as you walk down the aisle. I use a combination of candid action shots and carefully directed portraits to ensure we cover the entire spectrum of your celebration. I also focus on the cinematic quality of your film deliverables. My team and I pay attention to the flow of the event, ensuring we are positioned to capture reactions without interfering with the guests.
