We purposefully create scenarios where you have to use your target language—whether it is French, Spanish, or Kannada—to order food or play team games. It removes the fear of making mistakes because everyone else is doing exactly the same thing in a safe environment. At Harvard English Academy, we realized that the biggest barrier to fluency isn't a lack of vocabulary—it is the fear of sounding imperfect. That is why we move the learning experience out of the classroom. ### Why We Prioritize Interaction When you are stuck in a textbook, you are memorizing rules. When you are at a potluck or a group outing, you are using the language to connect. This is vital for: * **Accent Neutralization:** Hearing different people in casual settings helps your ear tune into natural rhythms. * **Survival Proficiency:** You learn how to negotiate, ask for directions, and make small talk—the skills you actually need for travel or working in a new city. * **Confidence Building:** Speaking up in front of peers during a game feels lower-stakes than a formal presentation, allowing you to find your voice without the pressure. ### The Bangalore Community Whether we are organizing a city tour or hosting an in-house potluck at our Kammanahalli center, the goal is always the same: to create a space where 'mistakes are welcome.' You will find yourself practicing with students ranging from kids in our public speaking programs to professionals prepping for visa interviews. This diversity is our strength. It turns the daunting task of learning a new language into a shared journey, helping you build both your linguistic skills and a local support system. ## About Harvard English Academy We founded Harvard English Academy because we saw too many students paralyzed by the fear of speaking. Here, we aren't just teaching grammar; we're building a family where potlucks and trips are just as important as the syllabus. We want you to walk away not just fluent, but bold.
