## About Elegant Updos: Buns & Knots

The secret to a long-lasting bridal bun is not just the aesthetic; it is the structural foundation. For my wedding day updos, I use specific padding and heavy duty anchoring techniques to ensure your bun stays perfectly in place, even when supporting the weight of a heavy bridal dupatta or matha patti.

### The Foundation of a Great Updo

I believe a hairstyle should look as good at the end of the ceremony as it did at the start. For traditional bridal judas, I focus on the internal structure. This means using the right padding and donuts to give your hair volume and shape, which is essential for carrying heavy jewelry or long veils without the style slipping.

### Modern vs. Traditional Styling

- **Traditional Bridal:** For the wedding day, I prioritize a clean, sleek finish. This usually involves a classic donut or twisted bun, often adorned with fresh red roses or a fragrant gajra. These styles are built for stability during long ceremonies.
- **Cocktail & Reception:** For evening functions, I shift to more modern, textured looks. These include messy buns, French knots, and soft updos with loose tendrils framing the face. These styles look more relaxed and pair perfectly with gowns or modern lehengas.

### Accessories & Florals

Accessories define the mood. I regularly work with fresh flowers like baby's breath and white roses to create a romantic, classic look. For a more modern edge, I use pearl strings, crystal pins, or tassels. If you have specific jewelry pieces like a jhoomar or matha patti, I use invisible threading techniques to secure them so they stay put without feeling heavy or causing discomfort.

### My Approach

Every bride has different hair texture and density. Before I start, I assess your hair health. I often use root crimping and specific texturizing sprays to build a foundation that holds a style, especially for complex braids or heavy buns. If you have your own clip-in extensions, I am happy to blend them into your chosen style to add the length and volume you need for that perfect updo.
