When I design a private affair, I focus on how the space shifts from day to night, ensuring every guest feels the atmosphere transform the moment they walk in. Designing for private affairs requires a different energy than weddings. It demands intimacy mixed with high-impact theatre. Whether we are transforming a hotel ballroom with deep blue hues and mirror balls, or creating a warm, festive holiday vibe, the goal is always to create a space that feels personal yet elevated. My approach to milestone celebrations is grounded in storytelling. I look at who you are, what you love, and the history you want to honor. For a landmark birthday, we might weave in cultural elements like a thunderous Jaago night with dhol players and traditional dancers, or we might pivot to a sleek, modern aesthetic with disco balls and baby’s breath to capture a specific era. Lighting is the most powerful tool in my kit for these events. In an indoor setting, I use smart programming to change the temperature of the room throughout the evening. We start with warm ambient lighting for dinner and shift to bold, dynamic colours as the party kicks into gear. This technical precision allows us to control the mood, ensuring the energy peaks exactly when it needs to. Every element, from the welcome signage to the floral centerpieces, is designed to be cohesive. I do not just place items in a room. I curate an experience that guests will talk about long after the music stops. If you are planning a milestone event in Mumbai or beyond, let us start a conversation about what your space could become. ## About Gurleen M Puri I believe every milestone is a living story waiting to be told.
