We use custom LED profile spots directed at the disco balls to ensure light refracts across the entire ballroom, creating that signature shimmer. This is what separates a standard party from a true retro immersive experience. I don’t just decorate; I build an atmosphere. For a retro disco setup, the magic lies in the intersection of light and texture. We use high-pile velvet sofas in deep blues and purples to ground the space, while the ceiling is rigged with clusters of disco balls that catch every ounce of light. The key to a successful retro theme is balance. You need the intensity of the neon and the shimmer of the mirror balls, but you also need areas that feel premium. My setups often include custom-printed graphic backdrops and neon signage that acts as a focal point for photography. Whether it is an intimate 80s-inspired sangeet or a massive corporate gala, I look at the room’s architecture and decide where the energy should pool. We move away from the traditional stage setup and create zones that invite movement. It is about crafting a rhythm in the room so that when the bass drops, the entire venue feels like it is vibrating in sync with your playlist. ## About Gurleen M Puri I’m Gurleen, and I live for the drama of a perfectly lit, high-energy event.
