Prices are what each provider told us or a business published, and where we hold none for what a photo shows, the price is our estimate of that setup from its parts at market rates, so check every price when you book.

## Q1. When should we book the newborn shoot?

**Book before the baby comes, and shoot between day 5 and day 15.** Families often ask late. Of the 9 who named a date, 8 wanted the shoot within a week of writing to us.

**How old is the baby?**

- **Not born yet** (Book ahead, hold a date): **Ask now, in the second trimester if you can, and hold a date you expect to move.** That's the only way to get the first two weeks. None of the 11 families who gave us the baby's age had written before the birth.
- **Under 5 days** (A hospital or just-born shoot): **A just-born shoot happens now.** Yathri Lokesh is the only photographer we priced who shoots at the hospital, within 48 hours of birth. We don't have her price for it, so ask her. The sleepy, curled-up shoot comes next, from about day 5.
- **5 to 15 days** (The sleepy, curled-up window): **You're in the window.** 3 of the 8 photographers we priced call day 15 the end of the best window, so ask today.
- **15 to 30 days** (Fewer photographers): **Still doable, with fewer photographers.** 3 of the 8 we priced give a window that runs past day 15. Of the 11 families who gave us the baby's age, 6 were past day 15 when they wrote.
- **Over a month** (Older-baby shoots): **The curled-up shoot is behind you.** Casper Photography says a baby of 41 days is too big for it and won't cooperate. Other shoots work well at this age: awake, smiling, family or themed. Ask what each photographer charges for those.

**Baby yellow, or came early?** Your paediatrician decides whether the shoot waits, whatever the photographer's window says. If the baby came early, Casper Photography goes by weight and size.

## Q2. What does a newborn photo shoot cost in Bengaluru?

**The price follows the hours, whether a second person looks after the baby, and what you get printed. A newborn shoot in Bengaluru runs from about ₹3,000 for a single setup to ₹1.75 lakh plus GST at a premium studio.** Of the 21 families who gave us a budget for a baby shoot, 13 planned ₹6,000 or less. Only 5 of the 21 were for a newborn, and they said they would spend ₹5,000 to ₹10,000. At ₹6,000 or less you get one or two setups and 6 to 15 edited photos, enough for the classic sleeping-baby pictures. Some studios add tax or travel on top.

- **One or two setups, in a small studio or at home:** About ₹3,000 to ₹8,000. 6 to 16 edited photos, depending on the package. - **More time with the baby, or a second pair of hands:** About ₹9,000 to ₹20,000. Every Alluring Lens Studio session is three to four hours with a safety assistant. Samavaya Studio has a trained baby handler. - **A big album or a film, the wider family, the mother styled:** About ₹20,000 to ₹50,000. Not every package here has all of these. Parents and siblings come in at lower prices too. - **A premium studio, with a big album or a box of prints:** About ₹50,000 to ₹2 lakh. Up to 60 edited photos. Tiny Yawns and Mommy Shots work at this end. **Pick the photographer for the look, and the package for the time.** Each photographer has a look of their own, quiet and matched at some studios, bright and full of props at others, so judge it from their gallery. A bigger package from the same photographer buys more time, more setups and more edited photos, and often the family and an album. At the very top you pay for a photographer whose work you love, and for printed pieces to keep.

**Doing it yourself costs little.** Phone photos in window light are free, and a printed book of them costs about ₹1,000 to ₹3,000. Elements Baby in Bengaluru hires out a room of ready baby sets from ₹2,000 for two hours, and you bring your own camera or phone. A camera costs ₹950 a day to hire at BokehDotz. Some delivery packages at Aster in Whitefield and Cloudnine in Bellandur include a baby photoshoot with one printed photo, at no extra charge. None of these gets you trained hands on a baby this small.

**Ask about tax.** Some studios add 18% GST on top, so a ₹9,999 package costs ₹11,799. Prismika, Alluring Lens Studio, Casper Photography and Baby's Backyard include it in their prices. Ask the other four.

**Pick the look you love. What you pay depends on the time, the photos and who's in them, whatever the style.** A baby asleep in a wrap can be one setup and 8 photos for ₹3,000 at Little Boss Photography, or three hours with the family, 35 photos and an album for ₹20,000 at Baby's Backyard. Of the 12 families who wrote to us about a newborn, 5 asked for something simple, with no props or just a basket. Q5 says who comes to your home.

- **Wrapped and asleep.** A sleeping baby in a wrap, in a basket, bowl or nest, in one soft colour. Needs: A fed, sleepy baby and a warm room. ## Q4. Why does one newborn package cost ₹6,000 and another ₹22,000?

**At ₹6,000 you get an hour, and nobody is named to hold the baby. At ₹22,000 you get three to four hours, a person whose only job is the baby, and a temperature-controlled room.** Both give 15 edited photos. If a quick hour and the pictures are what you want, the ₹6,000 one is plenty. If you want nobody hurrying your baby and a second pair of hands, that is what the ₹22,000 pays for.

**The ₹22,000 package gives you more time with the baby and a safety assistant.** Yathri's hour covers 2 themes and a family session. Alluring's three to four hours leave room to feed, settle and start again. Its safety assistant spots the baby while the photographer shoots, and its studio is temperature-controlled.

**What each photo shows.** Alluring's is cream, sage and tan: a cane basket, a sage wrap with a flower headband, beads and baby's breath, shot from above. Yathri's is bright and full of colour: a painted floral backdrop, pink roses and a lace parasol. If you love colour, you may like hers more.

**Each is one package of several.** Yathri's profile lists others, so ask for the ₹6,000 one by name. She comes home only on her ₹15,000 package, a bigger one with three hours, 30 edited photos and an album. Alluring Lens Studio's smallest package, ₹9,000, has the same hours and safety assistant with one setup and 7 photos. Go for that if the time and the second pair of hands are what matter most. The ₹22,000 is for when you also want two looks for the baby, both of you in the pictures and 15 photos to keep.

## Q5. Should the photographer come home, or do we go to a studio?

**Only half of the 8 photographers we priced come to your home, so settle the venue before you compare prices.** 10 of the 12 families who wrote to us about a newborn asked for a home shoot.

**Get the travel charge as a number before you agree a price.** Some studios outside this guide print one, from ₹1,999 to ₹10,000. None of the 8 prints one. It's the line most likely to be added to the bill later. Tell us your area and we'll ask them what it costs to reach you.

## Q6. Is a posed newborn shoot safe for a baby this small?

**We found no newborn safety qualification in India, so ask who else is holding the baby.** Of the 8 photographers we priced, 2 name a second person whose only job is the baby.

- **The second person.** Alluring Lens Studio has a safety assistant and Samavaya Studio a trained baby handler. Neither comes to your home. Casper Photography shoots with her husband, who spots the baby on the lift-up and bean bag poses. Little Boss Photography and Vandana Rout shoot alone, so ask who holds the baby. With Prismika, Yathri Lokesh and Baby's Backyard, ask who's coming and what they do.
- **The chin-on-hands picture** is two frames joined afterwards, with an adult holding the head in each. A baby this young can't hold its own head up.
- **Legs.** The International Hip Dysplasia Institute warns against wrapping a baby's legs straight down and pressed together. Wrapping itself is fine. Watch for legs held straight and pressed together.
- **Clean wraps.** Half of the 8 say how they clean props between babies. Ask the rest.

**Ask before you book:** Who else is coming? How do you take the chin-on-hands shot? What happens to the wraps between babies? How warm does the room get? If I say stop, does it stop? A studio that does this every week answers all five without pausing.

## Q7. What do we actually get, and when does it arrive?

**Count the edited photos: the packages we priced give 6 at the fewest and 40 at the most.** Extra edited photos are sold afterwards at ₹200 to ₹1,200 each, so agree that rate before the shoot.

**Twenty extra edited photos work out to ₹4,000 at one studio and ₹24,000 at another.** Ask for the rate before you book.

We worked out the last column as 20 times each studio's price for one photo, rounded. Camories and Tiny Yawns are not among the 8, so their price is from their own price lists.

- **Raw files.** Half of the 8 hand over every unedited file. Casper Photography shows you every frame watermarked and hands over none.
- **Delivery.** Anywhere from 4 days to 40 after you pick your photos. Get the date in writing.
- **The gallery.** Prismika deletes your gallery 60 days after the shoot. Download the whole folder as soon as the link arrives, and keep a second copy somewhere other than your phone.

## Q8. What happens on the day, and do I have to be in the photos?

**Mostly feeding, settling and waiting, for one to four hours, depending on the package.** You don't have to be in the pictures. If you want to be, ask for those frames in the first hour.

**Feed the baby first, then hand them over.** A full baby sleeps, and a sleeping baby is the whole session. Yathri Lokesh adds a detail in her post:

- **The day before:** At home, put the photographer's name on the gate. At a studio, ask about parking and steps.
- **What to carry:** Milk, more nappies than you think, wipes, a change of clothes for you. All 8 photographers list wraps among their props. Samavaya Studio doesn't provide outfits for newborn shoots, so ask her what to bring.
- **First thing:** Feed, then hand the baby over.
- **The first hour:** The deepest sleep, so the curled-up and family photos happen now.
- **If it runs longer:** Feeding, settling, starting again. Nobody is behind schedule.
- **Any time:** You can stop. Say so and it ends.

**Had a caesarean?** Tell the photographer when you book and again on the day, because a long session upright is a lot two weeks after. Wear a top you can feed in, in any colour but white.

## Q9. Who owns the photos, and can I stop them going on Instagram?

**By law you own the copyright, unless the contract says otherwise. A photographer's contract usually says the photographer keeps it.** Settle in writing, before the shoot, whether your baby's face gets posted.

**Ask each photographer, in writing, whether they post your baby's face and what saying no costs.** Under section 17 of the Copyright Act, whoever pays for a photograph owns the copyright unless an agreement says otherwise. A photographer's contract is usually that agreement. A yes on WhatsApp transfers nothing, because section 19 needs it in writing.

I am looking for **a slot this week**. Preferred time - this week on friday in daytime (16 days old, At home, ₹5,000 to ₹6,000)

- **A parent in Electronic City, Aug 2026:** My wife and me are planning a photoshoot for our **new born twins** (now 26 days). Share packages for **both home visit and studio**. Random clicks for memories, no particular theme. (Twins, 26 days old, Home or studio)

- **A parent in Budigere, Jul 2026:** They asked for a **faceless photoshoot** of the baby with the mother and father, preferably at home, and **not a prop shoot**. The baby is a month old. They asked if that is possible. (No faces, At home, 1 month old)

- **A parent in Sarjapur Road, Jul 2026:** His name means earth so want theme for photoshoot in that. **He is 4 days old only**. We want to do a family setup. I have 3 kids. This is the youngest one so **want photo with them**. (4 days old, Earth theme, At home)

## Want us to find one?

**Doing this yourself takes a week.** You message ten photographers, many don't reply to a number they don't know, the ones who do send packages that don't line up, and Instagram only shows each one's best day.

**Tell us once instead.** We come back with the photographers who fit, each priced for your newborn shoot, with their own past work. We already know them: we've checked their real work and their prices, and called their past clients, including about what went wrong. Every booking comes with an agreement on what's included and what it costs. It's free for you. The photographer pays mytribe a small fee when you book, and you pay them directly, at the same price as going to them yourself. If something isn't going to plan, a person here sorts it out.

## More questions

### Can the photographer be a woman?

Yes, and it's an ordinary thing to ask. Vandana Rout and Yathri Lokesh come to your home, Yathri with her ₹15,000 package. Alluring Lens Studio, Casper Photography and Samavaya Studio are run by women. Ask who else is coming too.

### Does the baby have to be naked?

For the wrapped poses, yes, under the wrap. Alluring Lens Studio and Casper Photography say their rooms are temperature-controlled, so ask the others how warm it gets. If you'd rather a romper, say so. You get different pictures and nothing else changes.

### Will they lighten my baby's skin when they edit?

Say so when you book: please don't lighten the skin. We don't know any studio's default. Then ask to see one picture before and after their edit.

### Do twins cost more?

None of the 8 publishes a twins rate, so ask each one. Two studios outside this guide print one. Camories charges 30% more for twins. Tiny Yawns charges ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 more, depending on the package. Both are from their own price lists. Little Boss Photography lists twins as a specialty. Casper Photography takes twins, and the two babies share the package's themes. Ask her what that adds to the price.

### What if the baby cries the whole session?

That's normal: much of a session is feeding and settling, with photos in the gaps. Ask before you book whether they rebook for free if the baby won't settle at all.

### Do we get a printed album, or only files?

Files only, in the cheapest packages. Albums come further up, in bigger packages with more photos. Little Boss Photography has a ₹15,000 package with a 15-sheet album. Baby's Backyard has a ₹20,000 one with a layflat album.

### How do I know a photographer is good with newborns?

Ask for one full gallery from a single newborn session, every picture they delivered. Instagram shows their best few. A full set shows how often the baby was settled. For a photographer on mytribe, ask us and we'll ask them for it.

### Can the same photographer cover the naming ceremony?

Usually, but it's a different job: loud, crowded, and the baby's awake. Get the two priced separately.

**Where the numbers come from**

- **Requests:** 63 Bengaluru requests for a baby shoot, April to September 2026, from 59 families. We left out 3 more filed under the same heading: two decor jobs and a gift hamper. Budget figures are from the 21 families who gave us one. A range counts as its middle, and "within 5k" counts as ₹5,000. Our chat had already shown a price range or a price picture to 10 of the 21 before they gave their figure. 5 gave their figure before we showed any price. For the other 6, there is no budget in our chats, so we can't say.
- **Photographers:** the records of the 8 photographers above, from what they told us and their own price lists and terms, September 2026.
- **The price steps** in the cost answer put the 8 photographers' own packages beside the price lists of the studios below. The pictures on the steps are illustrations.
- **Styles:** the order follows what the 12 families who wrote to us about a newborn asked for. Each style's price is the photographer's own package for a shoot like the one in its photo, from their own gallery.
