Prices are what each provider told us or a business published, and where we hold none for what a photo shows, the price is our estimate of that setup from its parts at market rates, so check every price when you book.

## Q1. When should we do the shoot, and is the ninth month too late?

**Photographers aim for 28 to 34 weeks, the seventh month and most of the eighth. That's their habit, not a medical rule, and the ninth isn't too late if you feel well.** Most women who write to us are near the end of that window or past it: of the 37 requests to mytribe that said how far along she'd be, 29 had her in the eighth month or later on the day, 8 of them in the ninth.

**How far along will you be on the day?**

- **Sixth month or earlier** (Plenty of time): **You're early, which is good.** Book a date in the seventh or eighth month, 28 to 34 weeks, and ask how moving it works before you pay. Book a weekend at Little Womb Photography at least one to two weeks before the shoot.
- **Seventh month** (The start of the window): **You're in the window.** Make the booking in the next week or two, for a shoot any day before 34 weeks, and take a weekday if you can.
- **Eighth month** (Still the window): **Still in the window, and where most of those 37 requests put her on shoot day.** Ask this week, take a weekday, and keep the shoot to an hour or two.
- **Ninth month** (Short, seated, close to home): **It isn't too late.** Little Womb Photography shoots up to about 37 weeks if you're comfortable, with no doctor's note. Keep it to about an hour, mostly sitting, on a weekday morning, close to home. Have your own outfit ready, since there may be no time to rent a gown.
- **Twins, or an early delivery** (Count back from the doctor's date): **Count back from your doctor's date** and aim for the early end of the window. Then pick a photographer who moves the date for free: Samavaya Studio's terms say it will, whenever you ask, and XD Photography told us it charges nothing and needs no notice.

**Why 28 to 34 weeks.** It's photographers' practice. No doctors' body we could find names a week for a photo shoot. Before about 28 weeks the bump shows less in pictures. After 34 you tire faster, and an early delivery can take the date away.

## Q2. What does a maternity photoshoot cost in Bengaluru?

**A maternity shoot in Bengaluru costs from about ₹3,000 for a short session in your own clothes to over ₹1 lakh with a photographer whose name you know. What moves the price is how dressed up you want to be: the studio's gowns, makeup and hair, how many looks, and at the top, the name.** Half the 43 families who named a budget to us plan ₹10,000 or less. That's enough for two hours in a studio's gown with makeup and hair, at a studio like XD Photography.

- **Your own clothes or one gown:** About ₹3,000 to ₹6,000. Usually an hour or two, with anywhere from 6 to 40 edited photos, so compare the count. Makeup is usually extra. - **The studio's gowns, usually with makeup and hair:** About ₹7,000 to ₹20,000. An artist does your makeup and hair, you wear the studio's gowns with long trains, and you pose on its sets, like a golden birdcage, a full moon or a wall of blossom. Some packages here leave makeup out and add it for about ₹3,000 to ₹5,000. - **A couture gown, a styled set and an album:** About ₹25,000 to ₹60,000. A showpiece gown with a train that fills the frame, a set styled with flowers and props, and often a printed album. - **A photographer whose name you know, for a long shoot:** About ₹75,000 to ₹1.75 lakh. More looks, a longer shoot and, in the bigger packages, a luxury album. **At every step, some studios quote before 18% GST,** so ask for the price with tax.

**Compare what's in the price, whoever you book.** XD Photography's ₹5,500 is two hours indoors in its gown with 40 edited photos. Camories' ₹8,999 is one hour with 10. An edited photo you add later costs ₹249 to ₹1,200, so pick a package with the number you want.

**What families told us they'd spend on a maternity shoot**

- Up to ₹5,000: 7 requests
- ₹5,001 to ₹10,000: 17 requests

Median budget ₹10,000. 43 of the 88 requests gave a budget, April to September 2026. A range is counted at its halfway point.

**Without paying a photographer.** Phone photos with a tripod and the timer cost nothing, at home or in a park, and a friend with a camera works too. If nobody owns one, a Bengaluru rental shop hires out a Canon full-frame body for ₹950 a day. Neither gets you posing, lights or editing.

## Q3. Which looks can we pick, and what does each cost?

**Pick the look you love. What you pay depends mostly on what comes with it: the gown, makeup and hair, and how many sets. At some studios, going outdoors costs extra.** Take a saree. Your own, on one simple set, is ₹3,000 at Little Boss Photography. The studio's, with makeup, hair and your husband beside you, is ₹16,000 at Alluring Lens Studio, ₹1,000 of it for draping. To mix looks, a gown and your own saree with your husband in both, Little Womb Photography's ₹14,999 package has makeup, its gown and up to four backdrops.

## Q4. Why does one studio charge ₹6,000 and another ₹30,000?

**The extra money buys the finish: makeup and hair done for the camera, a couture gown, a styled set and a printed album.**

**What shows in their photos.** In Alluring Lens's, the hair and makeup are done for the shot, the gown's train fans across the frame, and soft light on a dark backdrop of roses keeps the eye on the two of them. In XD's, it's open daylight on the outdoor set, natural colour and the couple smiling to camera.

Alluring Lens's ₹30,000 package, one of its bigger ones, has all of that, plus a second standard outfit and a printed album (₹5,000 on its other packages). Bought piece by piece from the same list, with the couture gown, it works out to ₹36,000, so the package is cheaper, and it has 5 more edited photos.

**At the very top, you're paying for one photographer's style.** Two studios sell the same hour, one outfit and ten edited photos: Giggles & Grins for ₹5,999 and Mommy Shots for ₹29,999 plus GST. Mommy Shots' bigger package, 3 to 4 hours with 60 edited photos and an album, is ₹1,00,000 plus GST with a senior photographer or ₹1,75,000 plus GST for the same package with Amrita Samant herself. If her style is the one you want, that's what the extra pays for. Ask to see every edited photo from one real client's shoot, and make sure she's the one holding the camera.

## Q5. Are the gown and makeup included, and will the gown fit me?

**Most studios include a gown, some only in their bigger packages. Makeup often comes only in a bigger package too, or costs about ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 extra.** We found no studio here that publishes gown sizes, so ask to see the gown on a client built like you.

**Will it fit.** Little Womb says her gowns fit regular sizes, and may not fit someone very petite, or around 6XL and up. Ask for a photo of the exact gown on a client built like you, and ask how it closes at the back. For a photographer on mytribe, ask us and we'll ask them for it.

**Full sleeves, or less of the bump.** A saree look is on offer almost everywhere, and Alluring Lens charges ₹1,000 to drape one for you. You can wear your own outfit at Little Womb, RP Studios and the cheapest packages at Little Boss and Alluring Lens.

**If your skin has started reacting to things,** tell the makeup artist before they start.

## Q6. Studio, home or outdoors, and what about Lalbagh?

**Pick the studio nearest you if you can travel, and home if you can't.** At Lalbagh and Cubbon Park, a hired photographer with proper kit can expect trouble.

**Where would you like the shoot?**

- **A studio** (Gowns, sets, a changing room): **Most photographers here work from one:** Little Boss Photography in Electronic City, XD Photography in Nagarbhavi, Little Womb Photography in Dommasandra, Sarjapura, Baby's Backyard and Samavaya Studio in HSR Layout, Alluring Lens Studio in Yelahanka and Yathri Lokesh in Sahakarnagar. Ask which floor it's on. Little Womb's is on the second, with a lift, and Little Boss's on the fifth.
- **At home** (No drive for you): **Few of the photographers in this guide come to you, so ask early.** Prismika shoots only at home, from ₹5,499 with one outfit and 6 edited photos, tax included. Travel is extra beyond about 5 km of Electronic City. Little Boss Photography comes to you too, but at your home he does no package under ₹6,000, so ask what that one covers. Travel is free only on a package of ₹7,000 or more within 8 km of Electronic City, and his makeup at your place is ₹5,000 extra. Alluring Lens Studio adds ₹10,000 to come to your home. Baby's Backyard and Little Womb don't come. Studios outside this guide add anywhere from ₹1,000 at Photo Kraft to ₹25,000 plus GST at Mommy Shots. Clear a room with a plain wall and good window light.
- **Outdoors** (The light, and the weather): **Usually close to a studio.** Samavaya Studio uses a park about 100 metres from its HSR Layout studio. Little Womb has one nature spot about 5 km from hers, at ₹2,000 a theme, and brings a tent to change in. XD Photography's outdoor packages use a rented outdoor studio in Kengeri: ₹5,999 for 20 edited photos, against 40 indoors. Shoot early or late in the day. September and October bring Bengaluru nine or ten rainy days in each of those months, so agree a covered fallback before you pay.
- **Lalbagh or Cubbon Park** (Fine with a phone): **With a phone, yes. With a hired photographer and proper kit, expect trouble.** The Horticulture Department banned professional shoots in both parks in 2018, more strictly at Lalbagh. Its 2025 orders name pre- and post-wedding shoots, modelling and reels in both, baby showers at Lalbagh and baby shoots at Cubbon Park, and the reports give a ₹500 fine for breaking them. The reports don't name maternity shoots, and the department publishes no permit that would let you do one. Lalbagh is ₹25 a head by day.

**Instead of the big parks:** a studio's garden or the park beside it, your society's garden if the association agrees, or a resort that includes its charges, like SidPhoto's three hours at Elements Resort for ₹15,000 to ₹27,000, depending on the package. At a monument the Archaeological Survey of India protects, still photos are fine, but a tripod or extra lights need an officer's written permission.

**A freelancer at home.** We found none who publishes a maternity price. Two to four hours at an event photographer's hourly rate, plus travel, comes to about ₹6,000 to ₹16,000 in your own clothes (AI estimate). The low end is south and west Bengaluru, where bookings can be shorter. Prismika's home packages, ₹5,499 to ₹13,499, sit in the lower part of that range. A gown, makeup or heavy retouching adds to it.

## Q7. What happens on the day, and can our family be in it?

**Half an hour to four hours of posing and changes, and two is common.** Your husband is in the price everywhere that says so, and an older child is free at some studios.

- **The day before:** Ask which floor the studio is on, where the washroom is, and whether there's AC. Little Womb keeps hers without AC on purpose.
- **Before you leave:** Eat, and carry water and a snack. Be on time: Little Womb postpones a client who arrives past her slot, and charges for it.
- **The first outfit:** Makeup first, if it's in the package. Then standing and seated poses, and your husband joins for the couple frames. Do your favourite look first, while you're fresh.
- **Each change:** A new outfit and a new set. Three outfits means three rounds of this.
- **Any time:** Sit down whenever you need to. If anything feels wrong, stop.

**The one pose to keep short** is lying flat on your back. The NHS says to avoid it for long, particularly after 16 weeks, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists warns of the same problem from 20 weeks: the bump presses on a big vein and you can feel faint. Turn onto your side between frames.

**Family in the frame.** Little Boss Photography charges nothing for anyone, grandparents included. Samavaya Studio includes your children and charges about ₹1,000 a head beyond that. Little Womb takes an older child on her Premium packages, from ₹14,999, and charges ₹500 for each extra person she photographs. Alluring Lens charges ₹1,000 for each extra person, plus ₹2,500 for styling. Ask whether the styling is for each person or once. With a toddler, do his shots first, while he's still happy.

## Q8. How many photos do we get, and will they come before the baby?

**6 to 60 edited photos, and at most studios, yes, if you shoot by 34 weeks and choose fast.** Delivery runs from 10 days after the shoot to 40 days after you choose.

**Do the sum for your date.** Where the clock starts when you choose, your picking time counts. At Alluring Lens, up to 10 days to choose and 40 to edit is about seven weeks, so a shoot at 34 weeks works out to photos around week 41. At XD the same shoot works out to about week 35. Choose your photos the week the gallery arrives.

**Raw files** are the unedited frames. XD Photography, Baby's Backyard and Yathri Lokesh hand over every one. Little Womb shares every photo watermarked so you can choose, and never hands over camera raw files.

**Save them.** Download everything the day the link comes, and keep two copies: Prismika keeps files for 60 days, without saying from when, and may then clear them. A photobook you design yourself at Zoomin starts at about ₹1,250 for an 8x8 hardcover, less when it's on offer. Unless your package lists one, a studio album is bought on top and costs far more: Pretty Pictures' leather 12x12 is ₹14,000.

## Q9. What happens to the deposit if the baby comes early?

**Usually the studio keeps it, and there's no maternity shoot.** Most take 30% to 50% up front. Before you pay, ask in writing whether it can go towards a newborn shoot.

**If the baby comes first,** there's no maternity shoot to move, so a free-move rule doesn't help. XD says it refunds its ₹1,000. Everywhere else, ask before you pay: will you refund it, or put it towards a newborn shoot? Get the answer in the same message as the booking.

**If you're admitted to hospital,** tell the studio the moment you know. At Prismika, a move inside 72 hours of the shoot loses the 30%. Little Womb and Samavaya will move the date, and XD says it will.

**At the most expensive studios,** Mommy Shots takes 80% to hold a date and doesn't refund it. Pretty Pictures takes 50% if you book 30 or more days ahead, and doesn't refund it either.

**You don't have to ask each one yourself.** Ask us and we'll find out what the photographers here do with the deposit if the baby comes early. And if something isn't going to plan with a photographer you booked through us, a person here sorts it out.

## Q10. Can I stop my maternity photos going online?

**At some studios, yes, if you say so in writing before the shoot.** It's free at Prismika, and 30% on top of the package price at Little Womb and Alluring Lens.

Under section 17 of the Copyright Act, 1957, whoever pays for a photograph owns the copyright unless an agreement says otherwise, and many studios' terms are that agreement. The privacy law that would cover your photos, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, isn't in force on this point until about May 2027. Until then, what you sign is what protects you.

## Want us to find one?

**Doing this yourself takes a week.** You message ten photographers, many don't reply to a number they don't know, the ones who do send packages that don't line up, and Instagram only shows each one's best day.

**Tell us once instead.** We come back with the photographers who fit, each priced for your shoot, with their own past work. We already know them: we've checked their real work and their prices, and called their past clients, including about what went wrong. Every booking comes with an agreement on what's included and what it costs. It's free for you. The photographer pays mytribe a small fee when you book, and you pay them directly, at the same price as going to them yourself. If something isn't going to plan, a person here sorts it out.

### Can the photographer be a woman?

Yes, and it's an ordinary thing to ask. Little Womb Photography's owner shoots every session herself. Alluring Lens Studio is run by two sisters, and Nitu Rungta and Vandana Rout shoot their own work. The owners of Tiny Yawns and Pretty Pictures are women too.

### Will the photographer be the one whose Instagram I saw?

At most studios here, yes: the owner shoots, and at XD Photography a team of four covers if he can't. At the big studios, ask, because the name can be much of the price. And ask for every edited photo from one real client's shoot, since a feed shows only the best. Ask us before you pay and we'll find out who will hold the camera on your day.

### Is a maternity plus newborn package worth it?

Only from a studio whose newborn photos you've already seen and liked. Pretty Pictures sells both shoots for ₹38,000 plus tax, with 8 edited photos from each shoot, and Camories for ₹29,999, with 15 from each and every raw file. Samavaya Studio's ₹39,999 bundle adds the baby shower. Its deck asks ₹30,000 at booking, but its written terms say 50%, so ask which it is. If the baby comes early, it's the maternity half that gets missed.

### Can they remove stretch marks, or slim my arms and face?

Say what you want before the shoot, because you often can't change it after. Little Womb's retouching is skin clean-up and colour correction, and the look is settled with her before the shoot. If you want your stretch marks left in, say that too.

### The seemantham is the same week. Can one photographer do both?

Yes, but book them as two jobs. XD Photography prices a seemantham or baby shower on its own sheet: 4 hours for ₹5,999 with photos only, up to ₹21,000 with a film, makeup and a saree drape. Cygnus Photography covers ceremonies, valaikappu included. Ask for half an hour of portraits of her before the guests arrive.

### Can we bring the scan photos or baby shoes as props?

Yes, and many studios keep them. Baby's Backyard has scan images, baby shoes and milestone cards, and Vandana Rout uses scan pictures and name blocks. Tell them before the day what you're bringing.

### My husband thinks it's a waste of money. Is there a short, cheap version?

Yes. Little Boss Photography's ₹3,000 package is one setup and 8 edited photos in your own outfit. Alluring Lens Studio does 30 minutes for ₹8,000, and Little Womb's ₹8,999 mini is about half an hour. Or it's the two of you, a tripod and a phone, for nothing.

### A photographer on Instagram has lovely photos and no reviews. Is that a risk?

The risk is the deposit and the delivery. Ask for a full client gallery, pay the smallest deposit you can, and get the delivery date in writing. A photographer who doesn't deliver what you paid for is a deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and you have two years to complain to the district commission.

- **Requests:** 88 Bengaluru maternity shoot requests to mytribe, 1 April to 10 September 2026: the ones where we matched photographers. Others never got that far and aren't counted. How far along she'd be on the shoot day comes from the 37 requests that said. The budget chart counts the 43 requests where the family named a budget themselves, in chat or on a call. We left out budgets we had shown them and they picked, and the price of a package they chose.
- **Photographers:** the 11 photographers above, from their own price lists, quotations and terms, given to us between May and September 2026, in conversations with eight of them and through our curators for the other three. XD Photography's advance and date rules are from a call in early September 2026. Vandana Rout's terms are from her own Instagram posts.
- **Prices outside mytribe:** each business's own website, read on 30 September 2026: RP Studios, Giggles & Grins, Raika Photography, Artriva Studios, Camories, Photo Kraft, Pretty Pictures, Tiny Yawns, Mommy Shots, SidPhoto, Bokehdotz and Zoomin.
- **The price ladder:** each step's range comes from the prices of the photographers above and of the studios in the line before this one. The top step is Mommy Shots' and Tiny Yawns' bigger packages.
