# Planning a kids birthday party in Bengaluru

We asked the decorators, magicians, hosts, caterers and baker in this guide what they charge and what a quote leaves out, and read 206 requests Bengaluru families sent us. It covers what a party costs for your child's age and guest list, who to book, and what to settle before you pay.

A price beside a provider's name is that provider's own, from their own list, menu or rate card or what they told our team, or a business's own published price. A sum we worked out says so. Check every price when you book.

## Q1. How much does a kids birthday party cost in Bengaluru?

**Plan about ₹13,500 to ₹21,250 for 15 children and their parents, with a decorator's balloons, a games host and party boxes of food, by our sums.** Run it yourself and it's about ₹5,000 to ₹12,000. A themed setup, a magician and a served buffet take it up to about ₹51,500. GST, travel and sound come on top where they're charged.

**What each way costs, for 15 children and 15 parents**

- **You run it** (About ₹5,000 to ₹12,000): **About ₹5,000 to ₹12,000, by our sum, before any balloons you buy.** Cook for 30 and buy a 1 kg cake from a bakery chain at ₹1,350 to ₹1,495, and you're at the low end. Order 30 Diviskitchen party boxes instead, about ₹145 to ₹230 each plus tax by our sum, and a 2 kg cake from Cakes and Kremes by Enza at about ₹1,900 to ₹2,600, and you're near the top. Return gifts are ₹40 to ₹150 each. You run the games.
- **A studio for 10** (₹12,000 to ₹15,000): **₹12,000 to ₹15,000 for 10 children at an activity studio in Koramangala, its own price.** Two hours: an activity of 60 to 90 minutes, then the cake, the decor and photos, and each child takes home what they made. Bring your own cake. Food isn't mentioned, each extra child costs more, and a parent stays with every child under 12. Its page also says packages start at ₹15,000, so ask which applies.
- **Balloons and a host** (About ₹13,500 to ₹21,250): **About ₹13,500 to ₹21,250 by our sum, plus tax on the food.** Balloons, from Maruthi Events' ₹1,500 for a simple setup to TK Balloon Shades' ₹3,500 ring (question 5). A host for one to two hours, ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 from Ruby Gracia, plus her travel. Thirty Diviskitchen party boxes, about ₹4,350 to ₹6,900. The 2 kg cake and 15 return gifts.
- **A theme and a magician** (About ₹26,000 to ₹38,500): **About ₹26,000 to ₹38,500 by our sum, plus tax on the food.** A themed setup at ₹6,500 to ₹8,500: Sankalana Decorations' theme with cutouts and banners starts at ₹6,500, and TK Balloon Shades quoted one family ₹8,500 for the football setup they picked. Mohammed Idris's magic show with games, ₹8,000 to ₹8,500. Diviskitchen's vegetarian buffet for 30, dropped off, at ₹300 to ₹550 a guest. The 2 kg cake from Enza, with a design on it costing more, and 15 return gifts.
- **All of it, served** (About ₹34,500 to ₹51,500): **About ₹34,500 to ₹51,500 by our sum, plus tax on the food.** A fuller themed setup, ₹10,000 to ₹15,000, Sankalana Decorations' usual job. **A "from" price is the least that provider charges.** Ask every quote for GST, travel and sound, which these sums leave out (question 6).

**Why 15 parents.** Families usually told us as many adults were coming as children (question 2), and each one adds a plate of food.

**What families told mytribe they'd spend, often on one part of the party**

- Under ₹3,000: 7 families

**Many of these budgets were for one part of the party,** such as the decor or an entertainer, so a whole party costs more. The middle figure was about ₹5,000, and about 3 in 4 planned no more than about ₹10,000.

## Q2. How many kids should I invite to my child's birthday party, and do I feed the parents too?

**Feed the parents too, and budget about ₹330 to ₹1,250 for each extra child with a parent, by our sum.** Most families who wrote to mytribe planned for 15 to 25 children, and usually as many adults or more.

**The whole class or a few friends is your call.** About 1 in 6 families planned for 30 children or more. Thirty instead of 15 adds about ₹5,000 to ₹19,000 at home, by our sum. Venues charge by the head and cap the group: one science centre takes up to 15 children on a weekend, and one activity studio's price is for 10.

**Ask on the invite who else is coming:** a brother or sister, a nanny, a driver. Each one eats, and some venues charge for adults too: ₹550 each on a weekend at that science centre. The studio wants a parent with every child under 12.

**Ask about allergies too.** Cakes and Kremes by Enza bakes only eggless cakes and makes one nut-free on request.

## Q3. Where should I have my kid's birthday party: home, the clubhouse, a play area or a pool?

**The room costs little or nothing at home or in your clubhouse, but first ask the association in writing whether an outside decorator and caterer can come in.** A play area or a studio sells a package for about 10 children, priced in the table below; ask what food, decor and cake it leaves out. At a pool, plan one adult in the water for every two children aged 5 or under.

**Most families who wrote to mytribe had it at home or in the clubhouse,** about 8 in 10 of those who said where.

**Ask the clubhouse four things, in writing:** can an outside decorator and caterer come in, is there a fee, when can setup start, and when must you be out. Loudspeakers go off at 10 pm, except in closed halls.

**At a pool, count the adults in the water,** lifeguard or not. We found no Indian rule; one Canadian pool's party rules ask for one adult in the pool for every two children aged 5 or under, and one for every four aged 6 to 9. In July 2024 a 5-year-old drowned in a Gurugram society pool with two lifeguards on duty.

## Q4. Magician, emcee or a craft like slime: what works at a kids birthday party, by age?

**For 4 to 7 year olds, book a magic show with games after it: Mohammed Idris does both for ₹8,000 to ₹8,500. From about 8, Little Creatives Club brings a craft each child takes home, from ₹5,000 for 10.** A 45-minute magic show on its own is ₹6,000 with Idris and from ₹10,000 with Pradeep Tyson. Both are about the same length, and the side by side below shows what at least ₹4,000 more buys. Booked separately, a show and a host come to about ₹10,500 to ₹12,000 by our sum, before a speaker, which Idris charges ₹3,000 for and Ruby Gracia asks you to bring. Two hours is enough.

The same kids' birthday magic show, about 45 minutes, from two magicians. Each price is the magician's own, for him alone. Neither picture is from a birthday show: Idris's is a still from his own reel, and Tyson's is an illustration, since we hold no photo of one of his birthday shows.

**What at least ₹4,000 more pays for.** The show is the same length. The difference is who does it. Pradeep Tyson calls himself a corporate entertainer. He has run his magic business since 2014, and his own site talks of "a decade of corporate stages". He told us he now does birthdays for children 5 and up, and he makes the birthday child his helper. Mohammed Idris calls his act "sakhath comedy aada jaadu", super comedy magic, a show built for laughs. He takes it to birthdays across the city at one price, however many children there are.

**Who to ask for each.** For the lower price: Mohammed Idris, or Sankalana Decorations, a decorator whose list has a 45-minute magician at ₹5,500, so ask who the magician is. For the higher one: Pradeep Tyson, and Illusionist Rajan, whose ₹10,000 adds half an hour of close-up magic for the family after the show.

**What works at your child's age**

- **Under 4** (A host and free play): **A host with simple games, and a short party.** Ruby Gracia hosts second birthdays, ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 for one to two hours. The studios here start at 4 or 5, and Pradeep Tyson takes no one under 5.
- **4 to 7** (Magic and games): **A magic show, then games.** Mohammed Idris does a 40 to 45 minute show and about 30 minutes of games for ₹8,000 to ₹8,500; you bring the prizes. Illusionist Rajan's show is ₹10,000, with half an hour of close-up magic after. Pradeep Tyson starts at ₹10,000 and takes children of 5 and up. One Koramangala studio's slime party takes children from 4.
- **8 to 12** (Make something): **Something they make and take home.** Little Creatives Club brings one guided activity to your place for 10 or more children, at ₹5,000, ₹7,000 or ₹10,000, and sets up and clears away. The studio parties in question 3 suit this age too, and the science centre's party takes 5 to 15 year olds.
- **13 and up** (A few friends, one thing): **A few friends and one thing to do together.** The Koramangala studio's tufting party, a small rug each, is ₹22,000 for 10. Its page says 12 and up in one place and 14 in another, so check. The science centre takes children up to 15.

The ages are our reading of who takes which child, so ask about yours.

- **Before anyone comes:** The decorator sets up. Leave two to three hours for a balloon setup.
- **The first 45 minutes:** The magic show.
- **The next half hour:** Games with the host or the magician, and prizes for the winners.
- **Then:** The cake, the food, and a return gift at the door.
- **About two hours in:** Done. A studio party here runs two or three hours.

**Book the longer slot if the party might start late.** Illusionist Rajan packs props for the time you agreed, so on the day he can add only a little.

**On a small budget,** one act still works. Most families who asked mytribe for an entertainer alone planned ₹3,000 to ₹4,500, which buys a tattoo artist or a balloon modeller from the table.

## Q5. Why do birthday decoration prices vary so much?

**You mostly pay for how much gets built, from ₹1,500 for balloons alone to ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 for a fuller themed setup.** Distance adds to it, and so does asking for a close copy of your photo.

**What the extra money buys.** At TK Balloon Shades, the ring is a frame to stand your child in front of, and it fits a small flat. The Spider-Man setup is a scene: a printed backdrop that names the theme, figures you can spot from across the room, and cake stands, letter boxes and a lit name at table and floor height.

**A close copy of your photo costs more.** TK Balloon Shades, two brothers who do only balloon work, quoted one family ₹6,700 for a ring built to match the video they sent, against his usual ₹3,500 ring.

**Distance changes it too.** VSD Creative's home setup is about ₹5,000 near BTM and ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 beyond about 20 km. Sankalana Decorations' prices hold within about 20 km of Varthur and cost more beyond. TK Balloon Shades and Maruthi Events work within about 15 km of their bases.

**To compare two quotes, ask three things:** how big the backdrop is, and whether it's printed with the theme and your child's name; how many cutouts, flat or 3D; and whether the lit letters and number balloons are in the price. A "from" price is the least they charge, and yours follows your design, so send photos of what you like early.

## Q6. What extra charges come on top of a birthday decorator's or entertainer's quote?

**Ask every quote to list transport, GST at 18% where it's charged, extra children, damaged props and sound, and to say when setup starts.**

## Q7. How early should I book a decorator and a magician for a Saturday birthday party?

**Book the person you want most first, since some take only one party a day.** A balloon setup can still go up the same day if the decorator is free, but a printed backdrop needs about two days. We found nothing on how far ahead Saturdays fill up.

**If your party is this weekend,** a balloon setup is still possible. VSD Creative and Sankalana Decorations take same-day jobs when they're free, and Mirakle Events needs as little as 24 hours.

## Q8. Do I lose my advance if we change the birthday party date?

**Ask to move the date before you cancel: some providers here move it for free, but a cancelled advance is often lost.** Advances here run from a flat ₹500 to 80% of the total.

**If the date might move, say so before anything is printed.** Balloons and props can be used again. A printed backdrop and banners can't, so that's what you'd pay for at Sankalana Decorations.

**Pay the rest after you've seen the setup.** Sankalana Decorations, VSD Creative and TK Balloon Shades take the balance after the work, and Mohammed Idris after the party. Idris keeps replacements ready, so once he's taken your advance he won't cancel because he's busy.

**Get in writing what happens if you move the date** before you pay. If you booked through mytribe and something isn't going to plan, a person here sorts it out.

4. On the invite: allergies, and whether a brother or sister, a nanny or a driver is coming

**A kids party is four or five bookings that all need the same Saturday:** the decorator, someone for the children, the food and the cake, each with its own advance and its own rules, and the person you want most may take only one party that day.

### Is a party planner worth it for a kids birthday?

Pay one when nobody in the family can spend the week on calls and the day running the party. We found no planner here who publishes a price, so you get a quote for your party. Party Creatives shows you a design deck with 3D pictures of the setup before you book. If you only need the day run, a games host at ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 does that. And one call to a decorator can cover most of it: Sankalana Decorations brings the magician, the host and the stalls from his own list.

### How much should return gifts cost per child?

An education publisher's gift guide says most parents spend ₹40 to ₹150 a child, so ₹600 to ₹2,250 for 15 children. Count the brothers and sisters who come along too. We found no Bengaluru shop that publishes a price for return gifts bought in bulk.

### What does a kids birthday cake cost, and cream or fondant?

A bakery chain's 1 kg cakes are ₹1,350 to ₹1,495. Cakes and Kremes by Enza's eggless cream cakes start at ₹950 a kilo, and a design costs more, priced once she sees your photo. She doesn't use fondant, and makes a cake nut-free on request. Order a day ahead, or four to five days for a tiered cake. We found no published figure for how many a cake serves, so ask the baker.

### What can we do for a 13 or 14-year-old's birthday?

A few friends and one thing to do together, like a studio's tufting party, where each makes a small rug (question 4 has the price and ages). A science centre's party takes children up to 15. We found no published party price for bowling, gaming or go-karting here.

### Can we have a birthday party in Cubbon Park or Lalbagh?

No. Cubbon Park's rules list birthdays and other celebrations among what isn't allowed, and playing with balloons too. Lalbagh's rules, under a state notification, also ban birthday parties.

### Will the decorator damage the walls of our flat?

Fixing decor to a wall can mark the paint, so ask before the day for a setup that stands on its own. If a rented prop is damaged, you pay: VK Creative Events and Party Creatives both bill for it.

- **Requests:** 206 Bengaluru requests to mytribe for a child's birthday (not a first birthday and not an adult's), April to early September 2026, picked from our written summaries by keywords, so the count is roughly right. These are the requests that reached the point where we sent providers, so there were more requests than these. Budgets come from each family's own WhatsApp messages, never from a card we wrote: 52 families typed a rupee figure (middle about ₹5,000); one of them, 8 to 10 lakh for decor, is surely a typo and is left out of the chart in question 1. Of the 52, 15 asked for the decor alone (middle ₹5,000, middle half ₹3,000 to ₹7,000) and 10 for an entertainer alone (most ₹3,000 to ₹4,500). Head counts are from our summary of each request, taking the middle of any range: 57 gave a number of children (middle about 18, from 9 to 45), and 12 gave both children and adults. Where: 139 said, 57 at home and 53 in a clubhouse or society hall. Each request card is a family's own messages, put in our words.
- **Providers:** every price beside a provider's name is that provider's own: from their own list, menu, rate card or quotation, their own words on a call with us, their messages to a family, or their own rates relayed to our team, which we credit as confirmed to our team. Each is dated in the sources under its question. A price our curator set, corrected or confirmed is left out. Diviskitchen's prices are from her October 2025 menu; our curator said in September 2026 that nothing had changed, and she hasn't re-quoted. BookMyPartyFood's menus are quoted to your brief, so its plate prices are a guide.
- **Our sums,** for 15 children and 15 adults, before balloons you buy yourself, GST, travel and sound. Running it yourself is 15 return gifts at ₹40 to ₹150 plus either home cooking for 30 at ₹100 to ₹200 a head (our estimate) and a bakery chain's 1 kg cake at ₹1,350 to ₹1,495, or 30 Diviskitchen boxes of three or four items at about ₹145 to ₹230 (her items are ₹35 to ₹85) and a 2 kg Enza cake at ₹1,900 to ₹2,600 (₹950 to ₹1,300 a kilo): about ₹5,000 to ₹12,000. Balloons and a host is ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 balloons, a ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 host, the boxes, the cake and the gifts: about ₹13,500 to ₹21,250. All of it, served, is a ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 setup, a ₹10,000 show, the buffet and ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 to serve it, the cake and the gifts: about ₹34,500 to ₹51,500. A magic show and a host booked separately is a ₹5,500 to ₹6,000 show (Sankalana Decorations' list or Mohammed Idris) and a ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 host: ₹10,500 to ₹12,000. An extra child with a parent is two plates at ₹145 to ₹550 and a gift at ₹40 to ₹150; 15 more children is ₹4,950 to ₹18,750. The science centre for 15 children and 15 adults on a weekend is 15 × ₹700 plus 15 × ₹550, ₹18,750.
