### Beginner Hand Building: Mugs & Utility Decor

2.5-hour session covering pinch and slab techniques to create one functional item like a mug or palette, inclusive of 800g clay and professional glazing.

Typically ₹2,950-3,100 Per Person Per Session (estimate)

#### Session Details
* 2.5 hours of guided instruction by Gauri Oak.
* Small batch size (capped at ~6 participants) for detailed attention.
* Strictly for beginners (Level 0) with a focus on hand building techniques (no wheel work).

#### Materials & Tools
* 500g to 800g of high fire stoneware clay allocated per person.
* Full access to slab rollers, wire cutters, sponges, and kidney tools.
* Use of studio texturing assets like lace, doilies, and embossed stamps.

#### Post Production (Done by Team)
* Staff manages trimming and slow drying to prevent cracking.
* Includes two kiln cycles: Bisque firing and Glaze firing.
* Application of food safe glazes by the studio team.
* Finished pieces ready for collection in 3 to 4 weeks.

### Advanced Construction: Planters, Bowls & Towns

3-hour structural workshop for complex items like tealight houses or pet bowls, providing 1kg+ clay and teaching joinery techniques.

Typically ₹3,500-3,700 Per Person Per Session (estimate)

#### Project Scope
* Up to 3 hours focusing on structural integrity and joinery (scoring and slipping).
* Designed for creating standing items like teepees, miniature houses, or large bowls.
* High customization allowed, such as stamping names or cutting custom window shapes.

#### Material Upgrades
* Generous clay allocation (1kg to 1.2kg) required for stability and volume.
* Use of architectural tools including precision blades, templates, and hole cutters.
* Access to slips or underglazes for surface detailing where applicable.

#### Firing & Finishing
* Allocates a larger footprint in the electric kiln due to object height.
* Studio applies waterproof glaze essential for planters and pet bowls.
* Extended drying time required due to clay thickness; turnaround is 3 to 5 weeks.

## About Pottery Workshops

### Why I Call It a 'Clay Date'

I run these pottery workshops because I love watching people let loose and get creative with clay. My studio in Indiranagar is small and full of sunlight, and every session feels more like a hangout than a class. Most folks who walk in have never touched clay before - that’s actually the best part.

### What Happens Here

- 2-3 hours just making stuff with your hands, no fancy wheels or pressure.
- I teach basic hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab work.
- Groups are super small - only six people max, so I can actually help everyone.
- Everything you need is sorted: clay, tools, aprons, firing, glazing - sab kuch (everything).
- I show you some jugaad tricks too (clever hacks).

### What We Make

We switch up themes all the time. Past workshops have seen people make:
- Mini tealight houses, fishy wall chimes, and planters
- Your own ceramic mug (yes, you can use it for chai or coffee)
- Snack plates, pet bowls, and even quirky egg trays
- Wearable art like pins and pendants

### The Journey of Your Piece

After you finish sculpting, I dry, fire, glaze, and fire again at super high temps. Takes a few weeks, but your piece comes out food-safe and microwave-safe, ready to use or gift.

### My story

Three years back, Goak Ceramics was just me, a tiny room, and a few wheels. Clay was the start, but it’s really about the folks who come in, get messy, and leave with muddy hands and grins. We’ve built a little tribe here, sharing stories and learning together. My work, like the Déesse mugs, comes from my heart, and somehow, it finds people who get it. This space is shaped by everyone who’s been part of it.

### My work

- **Pottery Collections & Commissions**: I make limited-release pottery collections and take custom orders. Each piece has its own story.
- **Pottery Courses & Workshops**: Beginner to advanced wheel throwing classes in Bangalore, plus handbuilding sessions with lots of studio time.
- **Clay Dates Workshops**: One-day, beginner-friendly events where you make fun stuff like teepee incense holders or plant pockets.
- **Déesse Collection**: Mugs, tumblers, and vases inspired by two Bombay sisters, blending storytelling with handmade art.
- **Pottery Nerd Sessions**: I share studio hacks and get into the nitty-gritty so you learn the real craft, not just basics.
