I focus on a low-stress, comfort-first experience that handles shedding, degreasing, and grooming anxiety with patience, not pressure. ## Photos and videos - [Video: Meet Chutki and Simba, two rescued kitties here for their first salon experience. I don't use harsh restraints; instead, I use a 'Happy Hoodie' to dampen dryer noise and gentle rubber curry brushes to remove dead fur. This keeps your cat calm and stops the cycle of shedding before it starts, rather than just masking the smell. Cat grooming in Bangalore requires a different approach than dogs. Cats are sensitive to sound and handling, which is why my priority is always minimizing stress. If your cat is dealing with excessive shedding, I recommend coat carding over trimming. Trimming a cat's coat can actually damage the texture and color of the fur permanently. My process for felines focuses on three core pillars: * **De-shedding:** Using rubber curry brushes to pull out the undercoat, which reduces hairballs and keeps your furniture clean. * **Degreasing:** Cats get naturally oily, especially around the base of the tail. I use professional-grade degreasers that bind with this oil, making it easier to clean without aggressive scrubbing. * **Anxiety Management:** I never force a nervous cat into a dryer. We use calm, hands-on drying techniques and the Happy Hoodie, which mimics the feeling of a hug, to keep them safe and settled. Whether you have a Persian with a dense coat or a rescued kitty who has never been to a salon, my approach stays the same. We start slow, build trust, and ensure the hygiene process—like ear cleaning and nail trimming—doesn't feel like a chore to them. If you notice your cat grooming themselves excessively or struggling with tangles, it is often a sign they need professional help. Let's make sure they are comfortable in their own skin. ## About Mamppi Deb I am Mamppi, and my team at Therpup treats every cat as an individual, not just another appointment.
