This involves conditioning before and after the shampoo, which loosens the dead undercoat while the dog is wet, significantly reducing the amount of loose fur in your home after the session. Managing a double-coated breed like a Husky, Malamute, or Indian Spitz is a commitment. These breeds have a thick undercoat that acts as insulation, keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer. If you shave or clipper this coat, you ruin that natural regulation, which can actually cause heatstroke and skin issues. Our approach is simple: we remove the dead hair, not the healthy coat. ### Our De-Shedding Process We start with a thorough health assessment. If we find heavy matting, we will be honest with you about the safest way to remove it without pain. For standard de-shedding, we use high-velocity dryers to blast out the trapped undercoat that regular household brushing just cannot reach.
