For instance, whether you are struggling with winter scalp sensitivity or trying to pick the right color developer, it all comes down to porosity and pH balance. If you do not understand the 'why' behind the formula, you are just guessing. I believe in giving you the knowledge to handle your hair with confidence, not just applying products and hoping for the best. Understanding the science behind your hair changes everything. When I work on a transformation, we start with a proper analysis. ### Hair Porosity and Product Absorption Think of porosity as your hair's ability to hold onto moisture. If you don't know your porosity level, you are likely using the wrong amount of product, leading to either dry strands or heavy buildup. A simple test with a cup of water can tell us if we need a light serum or a deep-conditioning masque. It is the first step in any of my consultations. ### Why Your Scalp Reacts We often ignore the scalp until it starts itching or flaking. In winter, for example, your scalp's microcirculation slows down, and the protective barrier gets weaker. If you are using harsh water or hot showers, you are stripping away natural oils faster than your scalp can repair them. Using the right ingredients—like Allantoin to soothe irritation—is more effective than just switching shampoos blindly. ### Formula Transparency Whether I am doing a Balayage or a creative fashion color, I believe in formula transparency. Patch tests for skin reactions and strand tests for color accuracy are non-negotiable. I use these tests to ensure we get the tone you want without compromising hair health. When I teach, I focus on these technical markers because that is what actually builds a long-lasting, healthy result.
