This is not just a performance choice; it is the essence of my daily practice. When you train with me, I do not just teach choreography; I pass on the same discipline, technical clarity, and rhythmic precision that I received at Kalashram. The Lucknow Gharana is defined by its grace, intricate footwork, and subtle abhinaya (expression). My approach to teaching is built on this foundation. Whether you are learning a simple Tatkar (footwork) or a complex Paran, my goal is to help you internalize the rhythm and the storytelling inherent in this style. Learning Kathak is a commitment to a way of life, not just an evening hobby. My classes follow the traditional format where we start with theory and foundation, ensuring that you understand the soul of the dance before attempting to master the speed. I offer a few distinct ways to learn: * **Regular Classes:** We focus on the core curriculum of the Lucknow Gharana, including hand gestures and rhythmic cycles, with individual attention for every student. * **Workshops:** These are intensive sessions designed to help you understand a specific composition, such as a Thumri or a complex rhythmic piece, providing a deep dive without a long-term commitment. * **Private Coaching:** If you are preparing for exams or need to polish a specific solo performance, I provide 1-on-1 sessions where we refine your movements at your own pace. Everything I share with my students is what I have been taught.
