From Rajasthan's vibrant colours to the quiet wisdom of an elderly gaze, these portraits bring life to paper. ## Photos and videos - ![Titled 'A Life Well Lived,' this large watercolour piece celebrates the beauty of old age. I work exclusively on 100% cotton Chitrapat handmade paper, which absorbs pigment deeply to create those rich, organic textures you see in my gallery. Since these paintings arrive unframed, you will need to get them mounted and glass-framed locally to protect the paper from moisture and dust over the years. Watercolour isn't just about paint; it's about the dance between water and pigment. My style focuses on letting the colours bleed and settle naturally, capturing the spirit of a subject rather than just a photographic copy. ### Why Choose Watercolour for Your Portrait? - **The Texture of Age:** I love painting elderly faces. Those wrinkles and deep-set eyes tell a life story that charcoal cannot always capture. Watercolour’s transparency allows me to layer skin tones that look alive and glowing. - **The Paper Matters:** I use Chitrapat Indian handmade paper (270-440 GSM). It has a rough, organic grain that gives the painting a distinct, classic look you won't find on standard smooth sheets. - **The Vibe:** Whether it is the bright orange of a sadhu's turban or a soft morning cityscape, watercolour brings a freshness that stays bright for years if maintained properly. ### How We Work Once you share your photo, we pick the right reference. I will then sketch out the composition, focusing on the character and the mood. Please note that all watercolour commissions are delivered unframed. Because these are original paintings on delicate handmade paper, I ship them flat to ensure they arrive safe. Once you receive the piece, I recommend taking it to your local framer for mounting to ensure the glass sits slightly away from the surface of the paper, keeping your portrait safe from humidity. ## About Mohammad Faizan I am Faizan, and for me, art is how I find sukoon.
