Whether it is the morning light on the Varanasi ghats or the grand architecture of Kolkata, my goal is to bring that sense of sukoon to your walls. ## Photos and videos - ![A watercolour landscape of Varanasi. I used a limited palette to capture the morning light hitting the ancient buildings and the deep shadows of the ghats, creating a sense of peace and timelessness.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/54a72bac-0051-4174-a6fc-62e900b69bc3) - ![The magnificent Victoria Memorial in Kolkata, captured in watercolour. I focused on the architectural details and the vast green lawn in front, using splatters of white to suggest a bright, sunny day.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/7f0dee5d-559d-4626-a0e3-6c9e35e99cc2) - ![This watercolour landscape features a historic European tower. I enjoyed painting the stone texture and the reflections on the wet ground, capturing a sense of history and atmosphere.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/3b1769ac-1008-4091-839a-6490b1f8ea78) - ![Another watercolour landscape from the ghats of Varanasi. This piece captures the bustling energy of the steps leading down to the river, with many small figures giving a sense of scale and life.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/bfe9e68a-03d3-48b8-861a-f98c5d64605e) - ![A quick watercolour sketch of a city street. These quick studies are great for capturing the light and shadow of a specific moment, like the sharp afternoon sun creating long shadows in a narrow lane.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/a3d9fbd9-45b5-4be7-b93f-4cf9b54dd78d) - ![A simple watercolour landscape of a rustic hut. Sometimes the most humble scenes have the most beauty. I loved capturing the texture of the thatched roof and the way the tree seems to grow right out of it.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/134d871b-74a4-4e48-aac3-c873f41a5cc1) - ![A work-in-progress shot of a Varanasi cityscape. If you have a photograph of a specific street, an ancestral home, or a travel spot that holds meaning for you, send it over. I enjoy translating those personal travel memories into a permanent, hand-painted piece for your home. ### Why landscapes matter Every place has a mood. When I paint the ghats of Varanasi or the streets of Kolkata, I am not just recreating the view; I am trying to lock that specific feeling of being there onto paper. Landscape painting is about capturing the light, the hustle, and the quiet moments that people usually walk past. ### The process and the medium My process often starts outdoors. I love joining sketchmeets to draw live, where I can actually feel the breeze and see the changing shadows. These quick studies help me understand the soul of a location before I bring it to the studio for a detailed watercolor work. I choose Chitrapat handmade paper because it is durable and offers a distinct grain. Whether it is the sharp shadows in a narrow lane or the reflection of a historic building on wet ground, the texture of this paper holds the watercolor pigments beautifully. Every piece is finished with care and shipped flat to ensure it reaches you without a single bend. ### Custom commissions Do you have a photograph from a trip that you still look at today? Let's turn that into a painting. Whether it is a rustic hut or a complex architectural landmark, I am happy to work with you on a custom commission. We can discuss your preference for warm or cool tones to ensure the final artwork fits the mood of your living space perfectly. ## About Mohammad Faizan Main Faizan, aur mere liye art matlab sukoon. Main Banaras se hoon, aur mere brush strokes mein wahi ki galiyon ka shor aur ghaton ki shanti dono milti hai. When I paint a cityscape, I am not just making a picture—I am trying to bring that specific feeling of being there into your living room.
