Whether it is a couple sketch or a tribute to a loved one, I use traditional shading and detailing to turn your digital photos into timeless art. ## Photos and videos - [Video: See how I turn a cherished photograph into a timeless hand-drawn pencil portrait. This A4 commission for a client from Odisha involved carefully shading the faces and detailing the saree to capture the couple's special bond. If you want a portrait, just send me a message.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/d7848819-7b87-4dc6-aeed-541cfa467786) ## About Custom Portraits: Turning Memories into Art For custom portraits, I use heavy-duty, acid-free cartridge paper so the sketch does not yellow over time. I focus heavily on texture, like the embroidery on a saree or the specific fabric folds of a shirt, because that is where the real story lives. When we start, please send me a high-resolution photo; the clearer the lighting, the deeper the shading I can achieve on the paper. Art is not just about drawing a face; it is about capturing the sukoon and the story behind it. When you commission a hand-drawn portrait, the process starts with us choosing the right medium to match the mood of the photo. ### Why Choose Hand-Drawn? In a world of digital filters, there is a different vibe to seeing raw, hand-drawn pencil strokes. Whether you are looking for a couple’s portrait or a sketch of a family member, I treat every project with the same focus. I recently finished a portrait for a client in Odisha, and seeing the reaction makes all those hours of shading worth it. It is about gifting something that is as real and unique as your relationship. ### My Process & Materials * **Charcoal & Pencil:** This is my go-to for realism. I use premium Staedtler pencils for sharp definition. It is perfect for capturing emotional expressions in monochrome. * **Protection:** I always seal the final work with a professional fixative spray, so it does not smudge once it reaches you. * **Delivery:** You receive the original artwork, unframed, safely packed between rigid foam boards or MDF sheets. No folding, no bending. ### How to Get Started Think about the pose and the lighting. Natural light is best for reference photos. I work on A4 and A3 sizes, handling 1 to 2 faces per sheet comfortably. If you have an idea for a custom commission, let us chat about the details. ## About Mohammad Faizan Hi, I am Faizan.
