Whether it is a degreasing treatment for a dirty coat or a careful trim, I never rush, we take breaks for treats and playtime until your cat feels completely secure on my table. Grooming a cat requires patience, not force. When a cat is scared, I don't just push through the session. Instead, I use a 'burrito wrap'—gently swaddling them in a towel—to make them feel contained and safe while I work. This simple technique, combined with a calm voice and no-leash handling, helps even the most nervous cats relax. My process is built around health and hygiene rather than just aesthetics. For cats with oily coats or stud tails, I use specialized degreasing treatments before the bath to get deep into the fur without irritating their sensitive skin. If your cat struggles with matting or hairballs, I perform careful trimming rather than full shaving whenever possible. I always explain why: shaving can stress a cat out and expose their skin to sunburn, so I prefer short, manageable trims for everyday comfort.
