Our guru Kamath ji teaches that wrong lines are part of the process, not mistakes to be hidden. If you are looking for a place where you can sketch freely and embrace the honesty of a raw drawing, you will find it here. Art is a journey of observation, not just execution. At our Jayanagar studio, we break away from the commercial art school model to return to the Gurukul system. This means our sessions start with an invocation to ground the mind, and our feedback is direct, intended to build your foundation rather than flatter your ego. ### Our Core Approach We focus on the fundamentals—anatomy, perspective, and composition. Whether you are a lawyer, an engineer, or a designer, you come here to learn technical skills that translate into better art. We do not teach to a syllabus defined by what parents want or what a hobby market demands. We teach you to see. - **The No Eraser Policy:** We enforce a strict 'no eraser' rule. By leaving your mistakes on the page, you learn to trust your hand and understand the logic behind every line. It is about building confidence in your own flow. - **Cubbon Park Sessions:** For those who prefer the open air, our Sunday outdoor sketching sessions at Cubbon Park allow you to draw directly from nature. You learn to capture movement, light, and the changing landscape in real-time. - **Traditional Folk Art:** Our modules on Kalamkari and other folk forms are not just about painting; they are about understanding the ritualistic and cultural history behind the motifs. You learn the geometry of the craft alongside the stories of the Indus Valley and mythological roots. Whether you join our Diploma in Fine Arts, our sketching courses, or our folk art modules, you are entering a space where the work is an offering. If you are ready to treat art as a practice and bring discipline into your creative life, come sit with us. ## About Fine Arts Gurukul We are Fine Arts Gurukul, a space for those who treat art as a practice rather than a pastime. Our Jayanagar studio is built on the belief that everyone can be an artist if they are willing to observe, practice, and let go of the need for instant perfection.
