I take a step back during the rituals to catch the spontaneous hugs between friends, and when it is time for the formal portraits, I set the light so everyone looks natural and relaxed rather than forced. The wedding day is crowded, noisy, and fast. My job is to find the quiet space between the chaos where real emotion happens. While my traditional photographer handles the necessary stage shots and family lineups, I am usually on the periphery, watching for the moments you might miss. I see the grandmother holding your hand during the ceremony or the cousins laughing in the corner while the rituals happen. These interactions are the heartbeat of the event. For the formal portraits, I try to move away from the static, stand-in-a-row style. I prefer to guide people into a setting that looks like a classic portrait, using light to highlight the connection between you rather than just the outfits.
