We do not just teach steps. We focus on the transmission of *padhant* (vocal recitation) and *bhaav* (expression) exactly as it has been refined over four decades. My students learn by observing the fine adjustments in my mother's hands and eyes, a subtlety that no video tutorial can capture. If you are serious about understanding why we hold a specific *mudra* a certain way, you will find those answers here, in the direct guidance of a lineage that treats dance as a form of devotion. The Guru-Shishya Parampara is the heartbeat of our school, Kathak Nritya Mandir. In an era where dance is often consumed as quick video tutorials, we hold fast to the belief that the depth of Kathak can only be transferred through a continuous, dedicated relationship between the teacher and the disciple. ### What Transmission Looks Like We do not rely on generic syllabus sheets. Our training, rooted firmly in the Jaipur Gharana, prioritizes the 'Sadhana'—the disciplined, daily practice. Whether we are working on the intricate footwork of a *tukda* or the delicate glances of an *abhinaya* piece, the emphasis is on why we do what we do. You will learn to internalize the 16-beat cycle of Teentaal not just as a mathematical grid, but as a space for creative expression. ### The Teacher as a Guide My mother and guru, Smt. Radhika Sathe, continues to be the guiding force behind our pedagogical approach.
