My approach is different: I emphasize the discipline of riyaaz (practice) not as a punishment, but as a grounding daily ritual. We focus on breaking down complex Jaipur Gharana footwork into patterns that you can actually practice, even if you only have 15 minutes a day. Kathak is often misunderstood as an intimidating, highly strict art form that requires a lifetime of preparation. Through my classes, I aim to strip away that barrier. Whether you are coming to me to reconnect with Indian classical dance or starting your journey for the very first time as an adult, my role is to act as a bridge between the traditional lineage of my Guru, Smt. Radhika Sathe, and your current lifestyle. We do not just focus on the steps. We dive into the math of the music (Layakari), the storytelling through facial expressions (Abhinaya), and the core strength required for those signature spins (Chakkars). For those who are worried about doing it right, we use dedicated feedback loops in our online sessions to ensure you are not just copying movements, but understanding the intention behind them. This is not about achieving rigid perfection; it is about finding the joy in the rhythm that is already within you.
