### Flower Pounding (Tatakizome) Workshop

A 60-minute outdoor stress-buster session hammering fresh floral pigments onto a canvas pouch or greeting cards.

Every time I mess around with flowers and kitchen stuff, my mom pops in with, 'En Madtidiya?' (What are you doing?) - it’s pure curiosity and that’s what I bring to these workshops. I want you to come in, try stuff, make a little mess, and see what happens. That’s how creativity hits.

### What You’ll Experience

My workshops are all about slowing down and letting nature guide your hands. You don’t need fancy skills - just a bit of patience and a willingness to experiment. Expect a meditative vibe, but also some chaos. We use everyday things like kitchen waste, flowers, and herbs to make art that feels personal.

- Natural dye art: Turn old cloth into something new using colours from food scraps and plants.
- Flower pounding: Tatakizome is a stress-buster, trust me. Smash flowers onto fabric and see the pigments bloom.
- Indian block printing: Make tote bags or cards with hand-carved blocks and safe inks. It’s a nod to our heritage.
- Handmade papermaking: Give new life to waste paper, make textured sheets, and learn a bit about recycling.
- Nature play activities for kids: Mud art, painting with flowers, and just plain fun.

## Meet your expert

[En Madtidiya](https://mytribe.in/en_madtidiya)

### My story

People always ask why I named this 'En Madtidiya'. Well, every time I raided my mom’s kitchen for my dyeing experiments, she’d go, 'En madtidiya?' (What are you doing?). That stuck! My workshops are all about that same playful curiosity I had as a kid, climbing trees with my thatha (granddad). Making art, especially colouring, helps me unwind when life gets too much. I just want to share that joy and calm with others.

### My work

- **Workshops for All Ages**: I run natural dyeing workshops, flower pounding art, block printing, handmade papermaking classes, and mindful nature play for kids, adults, families, and even office teams.
- **Learn by Doing**: We get messy! You’ll use flowers, leaves, and old paper to create, not just watch or read.
- **Nature is Our Classroom**: We’re mostly outdoors, using whatever nature gives. No fancy skills needed—just show up and try.
- **A Mindful Escape**: Stressed or bored? These sessions are a slow, creative break from screens and routine.
