We work with you to understand the form you want, whether it's an abstract vase to anchor a room or a unique character-driven piece. Since these are high-fired and hand-built, we factor in a few weeks for production and kiln time, so planning ahead is best if you have a specific date in mind. ### The Art of Hand-Building Unlike wheel-thrown functional ware, our decorative sculptures and art pieces are primarily hand-built. This allows for total creative freedom—we can sculpt organic forms, layered textures that mimic natural rock, or intricate figures that aren't possible on a spinning wheel. Whether it is a coil-built vessel or a free-form sculpture, every piece is made to be a focal point in your home. ### Specialized Firing Techniques What gives our art pieces their distinct look is the firing process. You will notice the varied textures in our collection, achieved through different methods: * **Obvara Firing:** This traditional technique gives pieces their characteristic crackled, distressed, and colorful surface patterns. No two pieces ever look the same. * **Wood & Pit Firing:** These methods interact with the raw clay to create unpredictable, rustic earth tones and markings, making each item a 1-of-1 original. ### Custom Commissions We love collaborating on projects. If you have a vision for a statement vase, a ceramic hukka base, or even a sculpture representing a favorite character, get in touch. We will discuss the dimensions, the type of finish (matte or glossy), and the overall vibe of your space to ensure the piece fits perfectly. **Commonly Asked Questions** * **Are these functional?** Many are decorative, but we can design them to be functional (like vases) if you let us know. * **How long does it take?** Because we use advanced firing techniques that require careful cooling, the production cycle is typically 25-30 days. * **Do you ship?** Yes, we carefully pack and ship our ceramic art across India, ensuring these delicate pieces arrive safely at your door. ## About Dipti Gupta We’ve spent two decades between our kitchen garden and the pottery wheel.
