When I work with these raw materials, the result is never identical—that is the beauty of natural dyeing. If you are looking for a perfectly uniform, mass-produced finish, this might not be it, but if you want textiles that carry the subtle, earthy charm of nature, you are in the right place. My work is rooted in Ayurvastra, an ancient practice of dyeing fabric with medicinal herbs like Tulsi and Turmeric. It is not just about aesthetics, but about bringing a bit of healing energy from nature into your daily life. I believe we create, teach, and explore to keep these traditional textile arts alive. When I source my pigments from the local farmer's market, I am looking for the vibrant potential in what others might see as waste. Pomegranate skins, for instance, become rich, earthy yellows and browns, while indigo remains a constant, beautiful teacher in my studio. My process is entirely handmade, from extracting inks to eco-printing leaves directly onto cotton and silk. I have personally dyed over 7,100 meters of fabric, and every meter carries that slow, intentional touch. Beyond textiles, this nature-first approach extends to my 'Eternal Bouquets.' I press and preserve real flowers and leaves, turning them into framed botanical art on handmade paper. Whether it is a cushion cover with ruffles or a set of hand-dyed napkins, everything I make is chemical-free.
