I build up layers of acrylic paint, focusing intently on the expression and iconography of figures like Radha Krishna or Ganesha. If you commission a work, I share these progress stages with you, so the final painting feels like a personal collaboration rather than just a transaction. My approach to spiritual and mythological art is rooted in bringing traditional Indian iconography into contemporary interiors. I use professional-grade acrylic paints on fine-grain cotton canvas, allowing for vibrant, lasting color that respects the historical significance of the deities and figures I paint. ### The Artistic Process Each commission is treated as an individual project. I do not mass-produce these works. Instead, I follow a disciplined method—starting with a precise sketch, blocking in the forms, and finally layering the details. This process ensures that the finished piece possesses the depth and character you expect from a handcrafted artwork. To protect your investment, every completed painting is coated with a non-yellowing varnish, providing resistance against dust, moisture, and UV damage. ### Practical Details for Collectors When you commission a spiritual painting, I focus on creating a narrative that speaks to your specific space. Whether you are looking for a portrait of Ganesha for your entryway or a depiction of Radha Krishna for a living area, the composition is adjusted to fit your dimensions. Because I prioritize the integrity of the canvas during transit, large format works are delivered rolled in industrial-strength PVC pipes. This method prevents the crushing that often occurs with stretched frames during shipping. Each artwork includes a short printed note explaining the cultural significance of the motif, and I provide a Certificate of Authenticity with every piece. Whether you are based in Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, or anywhere across India, I ensure the art reaches you safely, ready to be stretched and framed according to your interior preferences. ## About Pratap Badtya I studied at the Sir J.J. School of Art, but my real inspiration comes from the stories I grew up with. I believe art should not just decorate a wall; it should carry a weight and a sense of peace that you feel every time you walk into the room.
