Because we have 4 to 6 veena artists and 3 percussionists moving in unison, we require a minimum stage width of 24 feet and advanced sound balancing to ensure that deep, resonant 'wall of sound' reaches every corner of your venue. There is a special energy that comes from bringing multiple veenas onto a single stage. While a solo recital is an intimate conversation, a Grand Veena Ensemble is a collective celebration. I often perform with 4 to 6 trained artists, alongside a rhythm section of mridangam, ghatam, and khanjira, to create a loud, resonant experience that is distinct from traditional Carnatic music performances. ### The Pancha Veena Experience One of my favourite setups is the 'Pancha Veena' (five veenas) concert. It requires immense coordination and practice, but the result is a massive, unified sound that is perfect for large public gatherings, cultural festivals, and major temple events. We ensure the entire ensemble is color-coordinated, making the performance as much of a visual treat as it is an auditory one. ### Practical Details for Organizers Because these are large groups, logistics are key. Whether you are hosting a corporate event, a festival in Bangalore, or a private function, please keep in mind that we need a larger stage area than a solo act to accommodate all the instruments and artists comfortably. We also perform thorough sound checks to handle the complex 8-12 channel mixer setup required to balance the instruments perfectly. If you are planning an event where you want a grand, powerful performance that highlights our classical heritage with a modern, orchestrated touch, let's chat about the requirements and ensure everything is set for a memorable show. ## About Suma Sudhindra Music is my life, but performing in a group brings a whole different kind of joy! I love bringing my students and co-artists together for these big, resonant ensembles—it is loud, it is harmonious, and it is a total celebration of our Carnatic traditions.
