My job is to move through the crowd at your ceremony—whether it’s a packed venue or a quiet home setup—and anticipate the fun before it happens. You will get the authentic, messy, candid shots of your family getting creative with the turmeric, not just static photos of people smiling on command. I stay low and quiet, capturing the raw joy of the moment without interfering with the ritual. ### Capturing the Raw Energy of Haldi The Haldi is one of the most visually expressive ceremonies in an Indian wedding. It is vibrant, emotional, and often unpredictable. I approach these events as a documentarian. My goal is to bottle the specific atmosphere of your day, whether it involves a quiet ceremony in a lush garden or a high-energy event on a cruise ship. ### How I Work the Chaos Haldi ceremonies can be fast-paced. Between the flower petals flying, the turmeric being smeared, and the constant movement of family members, it takes a specific technique to get the shot. I use high-speed shutter settings and quick-focus lenses to freeze the action without it looking blurry or sterile. I am always looking for the details—the specific way your aunt laughs, the reaction on your groom's face, or the candid mess of the decor. This is about capturing the story, not just the checklist of rituals. ### Adaptable to Any Venue I have photographed Haldi ceremonies in everything from sprawling luxury resorts in Mumbai to intimate mountain elopements in Mussoorie. Every location brings a different quality of light and space. If we are shooting outdoors during the golden hour, I play with natural flares to create a warm, dreamy aesthetic. If we are indoors, I focus on the contrast between the vibrant decor and the genuine expressions of your guests. No matter the venue, my approach remains consistent: respectful, observant, and entirely focused on the real connection between you and your loved ones. Let’s make sure we document the laughter as well as the love. ## About Dreamcatchers Photography I’m Punit, and for me, the Haldi is where the wedding truly comes alive. I don't believe in posing during these ceremonies because the best shots happen when you’re fully immersed in the fun.
