This small change often stops the pulling immediately because your dog stops feeling the physical tension you are inadvertently creating through the leash. Dealing with a dog that constantly pulls on the lead makes every walk a chore. Instead of enjoying your time outside, you end up bracing yourself against the pavement. My approach to leash walking is built on communication rather than force. We train on your actual street, not in a studio. This allows us to handle real-world triggers like stray dogs, passing bikes, and loud traffic that your dog encounters daily. If your dog gets distracted or aggressive when seeing other dogs, we work on focus commands to keep their attention on you. I also teach the whole household how to handle the leash. If you have children, they need to know how to hold the lead correctly so they can walk the dog without fear. I show them how to use their body weight and simple commands to stay in control. We incorporate basic obedience like 'Heel' for walking by your side and 'Stop' for crossing the road.
