When I drop a 90s anthem, I watch the parents and the cousins hit the floor at the same time. I do not just hit play on a playlist; I build mashups live during your event, ensuring the beats stay high-energy and the transitions feel smooth, not jarring. ### Why Retro Hits Work at Weddings There is a special kind of energy when a 90s or 00s track starts playing. It is familiar, it is fun, and everyone knows the hook. Whether it is a Sangeet, a cocktail night, or the main wedding reception, these songs act as the perfect icebreaker. I find that when I mix in hits from icons like Salman Khan or Hrithik Roshan, the dance floor fills up instantly because the music resonates with guests of all ages. ### My Approach to Throwback Sets I treat these throwback sets with the same intensity as a club night. My process involves: * **Live Mashups:** I do not believe in static playlists. I read the room and create live remixes of retro classics, keeping the beat consistent with the mood of the party. * **Genre Blending:** I weave 90s Bollywood pop with 2000s commercial hits and Punjabi tracks to keep the tempo moving forward. If I feel the energy dipping, I switch up the rhythm instantly. * **Interactive Hosting:** Since I am also an MC, I keep the vibe light. If a classic song reminds me of a good memory or a line of shayari fits the moment, I use the mic to keep the crowd engaged and laughing. ### Practical Tips for Your Event If you want a dedicated retro block, tell me about your family and friends. Does your side love the slow 90s ballads or the high-speed dance numbers? Knowing your favorites helps me structure the mix so your event feels personal rather than a generic radio station playback. We can stick to the golden era exclusively or mix it into a broader open-format set for your celebration. ## About Sunny Gera I am Sunny, and I believe every party needs a solid dose of nostalgia to really take off.
