When I create a Bollykiz mashup, I keep the original song's soul intact while layering in beats that make it danceable for Latin rhythm lovers. This gives dancers the best of both worlds: music they can sing along to, with a tempo that keeps the energy high. For a long time, I noticed Indian dancers struggled to fully connect with Kizomba or Zouk because the tracks were unfamiliar. My Bollykiz project bridges that gap. By mixing tracks like 'Taal se Taal Mila' or 'Mahiye Jinna Sona' with modern Afro-Latin beats, I help the audience find the rhythm without losing the emotional connection to the lyrics. ### How I Structure a Set - **The Build-Up:** I start with familiar Bollywood melodies to get the crowd comfortable. - **The Fusion Shift:** Gradually, I introduce the heavy basslines and syncopated percussion of Kizomba and Tarraxo. - **The Peak:** This is where the mashup lives. You get the familiarity of Indian music with the sophisticated, continuous groove of Latin dance. I treat my DJ sets like a conversation with the dancers. I am not just playing a playlist; I am reading the floor. If I see people tired, I switch up the energy. If they are in the flow, I keep the heavy bass going. I have played at festivals from Mumbai to Bangalore, and the one thing I have learned is that a good DJ set is about reading the room, not just following a tracklist. I am a techie by day, so I approach my beat-matching and harmonic mixing with a very logical, structured mindset. This ensures the transitions are seamless, keeping you in the dance flow from the first track to the last. ## About Mitesh Dalvi I am a techie by day and a dancer at heart, obsessed with blending global beats with the tracks we all grew up singing to.
