The focus here is on the walk and the connection rather than complicated spins or fancy footwork. If you are new to this style, we start by getting comfortable with the rhythm and the lead and follow mechanics so you can feel the music instead of just counting steps. 🫶🏻 Kizomba is a beautiful dance that originated in Angola, and it brings a completely different energy to the dance floor. While my primary focus is often Salsa and Bachata, adding Kizomba to your repertoire changes how you listen to music and how you move with a partner. My approach to teaching Kizomba is rooted in simplicity and comfort. We do not rush into complex patterns. Instead, we spend time on the basics: the weight transfer, the posture, and how to maintain a gentle but firm connection with your partner. It is a very intimate, grounded style that helps you relax and actually enjoy the song. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced dancer looking to add a new layer to your social dancing, these sessions are for you. We often cover both traditional Kizomba and the more modern Urban Kiz influences, ensuring you can adapt to the music you hear at socials across Mumbai. I teach at Studio ConRi in Andheri West and The Community Studio in Santacruz West, where we focus on creating a supportive environment for everyone.
