Because we integrate live musicians like percussionists, saxophonists, and violinists with a dedicated VJ, we require a mandatory 60-minute sound check before your event starts. This ensures every beat, note, and visual projection is perfectly synced for that seamless, festival-style impact. ### More Than Just a DJ Set When I perform with The Collective, I am not just hitting play on a track. I am conducting a live production. Whether we are playing a classic like 'Bumbro' or dropping the latest Honey Singh hit, the chemistry between me and my musicians is what changes the energy in the room. ### What We Bring * **Live Instrumentation:** We bring a full ensemble including percussionists (bongos, congas, electronic pads), a melodic specialist (sax or violin), and two dhol players to ground the rhythm. * **Visual Sync:** Our dedicated VJ operates live, matching LED visuals to the tempo of our live instrumentation, not just the pre-recorded music. * **The Jugalbandi:** This is our signature. When my electronic mix meets the raw sound of a live tabla or darbuka, it creates a unique sound that standard DJ sets simply cannot replicate. ### Why Book The Collective? Most DJs perform solo. When you hire us, you are booking a headline act for your wedding or corporate event. We specialize in transforming a standard ballroom or stage into a concert environment. We have performed everywhere from the ITC Maratha in Mumbai to corporate gigs in Singapore. If you want your guests to talk about the music for months, this is the format that gets it done. ### Technical Reality We travel with our own team, including our tech manager. While we handle the performance dynamics, we do rely on the venue to provide the hardware for SFX like CO2 jets and confetti triggers, which we then coordinate for maximum effect during the drop. ## About DJ Alex I’m DJ Alex, and I built The Collective because I believe a DJ set is just the beginning. I wanted to surround myself with the best live musicians—saxophonists, dhol players, percussionists—who can match my energy and turn a dance floor into a live concert. We don't just mix tracks; we create a live symphony of sound.
