It is about finding the bridge between two different eras. Whether I am layering a regional Kokborok rap track over a modern hip hop beat or mixing a 90s classic into a high energy Psy Trance drop, I test every transition live on my Pioneer controller. It is a bit like my research work. Precision matters, but the magic happens when the unexpected elements click. You might wonder why a scientist stands behind a DJ console. For me, it is the same process. In the lab, I look for data patterns. On the decks, I look for sonic patterns. This is why I do not rely on pre-recorded playlists. Every set I play is a live performance where I read the room and adjust the mix in real time. My 'Queen of Mashups' style is born from my roots in Tripura and my love for global genres. When I mix a Kokborok folk song with a lofi hip hop beat, I am not just playing music. I am telling a story that spans my heritage and my current life. If you book me for your event, here is what you get: * **Customization:** We do a pre-event call to establish your favorite tracks and, more importantly, your 'Do Not Play' list. * **Technical Rigor:** I bring my own MacBook and Pioneer XDJ/DDJ hardware. I arrive 45-60 minutes before the set to ensure my output perfectly syncs with your venue's PA system. * **Genre-Fluidity:** Whether it is a sunset lounge session requiring deep chill grooves or a high-octane dance floor, I switch formats instantly. I have played everywhere from Maldives beach clubs to mountain lounges in Oman. I treat every gig as a chance to bring something fresh to the table. If you want a party that sounds like everyone else's, I am probably not the right fit. If you want a sound that feels new, let's talk. ## About Rislyn Debbarma I split my days between medical research and the DJ console. Being a scientist makes me obsess over the details, while my love for music lets me break the rules. I am just a girl from Tripura trying to make you dance to sounds you did not know belonged together.
