Back in 2014, I pushed my turntablism skills to the limit at the War of the DJs in Bangalore—and walked away as the runner-up. It taught me how to handle pressure and keep the crowd hooked. ## Photos and videos - [Video: On stage at the 'War of the DJs' competition. You can see the judges in the foreground. Unlike DJs who just hit play on a laptop, I use live scratching and real-time beat juggling to build a sound that is unique to your crowd. Whether it is a wedding or a corporate bash, I do not just play music; I perform it. Competing in the 2014 War of the DJs was a turning point for me. It wasn't just about winning; it was about the intensity of the moment and learning to read a crowd that was there to judge, not just dance. I carry that same intensity into every gig I do today in Bengaluru. ### Why hire a turntablist for your event? Most event DJs use pre-planned playlists. I don't. My foundation is built on technical skills—Beat Juggling, Crab Scratches, and Transformer cuts. When you hire me, you get a performer, not a background track. **What I bring to your venue:** * **Live Remixing:** I chop and flip tracks on the fly. If the dancefloor needs a boost, I mix in a Tamil Kuthu sample or an Old School Hip-Hop classic instantly. * **Technical Skill:** I use genuine turntables and vinyl. You will see the hands-on control that gives the music a raw, gritty texture you cannot get from a controller alone. * **Crowd Control:** The 'War of the DJs' taught me that the crowd is part of the music. I actively engage with the room, adjusting tempo and vibe based on what you are feeling. I am available for bookings across Karnataka. Whether you are hosting a high-energy cocktail hour or a mainstage wedding performance, let’s bring some real sound to your space. ## About Karthik Sivaram I’m Karthik, and for me, it’s all about the energy—FULL POWER. Whether it’s a high-stakes competition or your big day, I bring the same drive to the turntables. I’m not here to play a pre-recorded set; I’m here to mix live, mess up, laugh, and keep your crowd moving.
