Whether we are in the studio or performing, I prioritize the storytelling behind the movement. My classes are structured around the Guru-Shishya tradition, meaning you get mentorship that focuses on the emotional depth of Abhinaya and the rhythmic precision of Nattuvangam rather than just rote memorization. For me, dance is a calling, not an obligation. This featured collection showcases the various facets of my practice—from the meditative stillness required in solo performances to the energetic community environment of our group batches at Nrityaranjani. When you join my classes, you aren't just learning choreography. We dive into the nuances of Angashuddhi and the intricate language of Mudras. If you are a beginner, we start with a strong foundation in Taalam and basic footwork. If you are more experienced, we can refine your Nattuvangam skills or focus on the complex storytelling of Varnam and Padam. I believe in transparency about the process. Some days in the studio are for intense discipline, and others are for spontaneous joy. My classes are held in traditional community settings, maintaining an authentic environment that feels like a dance family rather than a sterile gym. Whether you want to pursue Bharatanatyam as a spiritual journey, a fitness alternative, or a pathway to stage performance, my role is to guide you through it with patience and authenticity. ## About Divya Srikanth Dance is a calling for me, not just a job. When I'm not teaching or performing, you'll likely find me rehearsing with my dance family or trying to get my husband to dance with me (he is trying!).
