It gives you that full, royal volume for big events like a sangeet or reception, but you can remove it easily to make the lehenga lighter and more comfortable for smaller family gatherings or festivals. Transforming a heavy silk saree into a lehenga is a process that requires both respect for the fabric and a keen eye for modern tailoring. When you bring your saree to my studio in Annapurneshwari Nagar, we start by checking the fabric strength and weave to ensure it can handle the pleating and embroidery involved in a custom lehenga. My approach to the pattu langa is centered on comfort without losing that traditional flair. For the blouse, I offer a range of work from simple hand-embroidery to heavy aari and maggam work, ensuring it complements the saree's natural motifs. We pay close attention to the cut, often using Prince or 3-dart cuts to ensure the blouse provides a structured fit that is perfect for heavy silks. Whether you have an old Kanjeevaram that has been sitting in your cupboard or a new purchase you want to style uniquely, we work together to design an ensemble that fits your body and your personal style. I also incorporate custom fabric tassels and detailed borders to finish the look.
