Instead, I follow their lead, whether they want to run around, play with a prop, or share a quiet moment with their sibling. When you come into my studio, you will see that I give them the space to get comfortable first, which is why those authentic, mid-laugh expressions come through so easily. For sibling portraits, the magic is in the dynamic. Whether you have two energetic toddlers or a newborn and their curious older sibling, my job is to capture the relationship between them. In the studio, I use props like small wooden stools and minimal backdrops to keep the focus entirely on the kids. For at-home sessions, I work with the natural light in your nursery or living room, making it much easier for them to feel at ease in their own environment. Many parents worry about their children not cooperating, but that is part of the process. I have learned to work quickly and stay patient. If a child needs a break or a snack, we take it. I often suggest matching colors or textures in outfits rather than wearing identical clothes, as this creates a more timeless, cohesive look. If you are planning a session, think about what activities your kids enjoy. Are they readers? Do they love building blocks? We can incorporate these elements to make the portraits feel like a genuine reflection of their personalities.
