Each performance is a strictly managed 60-minute production where our team of 3-4 senior puppeteers handles everything from equipment transport to the final curtain, allowing you to host a professional cultural show without needing a permanent theater setup. ### Traditional Art, Modern Settings We specialize in Sutrada Gombe, the traditional string puppetry of Karnataka. Our productions, such as the Ramayana Saptaswara or the story of King Harishchandra, are not static displays but dynamic theater. We use authentic wooden puppets adorned in real silk and traditional jewelry to ensure the visual quality matches the depth of the storytelling. ### What Goes Into a Performance When you book our string puppet shows, you are getting more than just entertainment. You are bringing a piece of our cultural heritage to your housing society, school, or corporate gathering. - **Production Quality:** We use a portable proscenium stage (approx. 8-10 ft wide) with front curtains and scene-specific painted backdrops. - **Audio:** We provide a professional pre-recorded soundtrack featuring dialogue and classical background scores to ensure the narrative is clear and immersive. - **Logistics:** Our team arrives 90 minutes before the showtime to manage the full setup, ensuring a hassle-free experience for the organizers. ### Choosing Your Experience We offer flexibility based on the scale of your event. For smaller, intimate gatherings, our standard string puppet packages fit perfectly into community halls or school stages. For larger cultural festivals or corporate events, we offer grand epic productions with 50-100+ puppets, complex lighting designs, and a larger troupe of 8-12 artists. These larger shows require more space—typically a 20ft by 15ft performance area—and extra setup time, but they provide an unmatched visual spectacle that dives deep into the epics. ## About Dhaatu Puppet Theater I am Anupama Hoskere, founder of Dhaatu Puppet Theater.
