They tried our meals and were amazed that something so lightweight could taste exactly like a home-cooked meal. It is that exact reaction—pure, simple, and 'ghar jaisa'—that drives us to keep refining our process, ensuring that even halfway across the world, you never have to settle for bland or unhealthy travel meals. When you are miles away from home, nothing hits quite like familiar flavors. We started this journey because we know the struggle of finding good vegetarian and Jain food while traveling. Our customers—ranging from students prepping for exams in foreign universities to families on vacation—tell us that our meals are their secret weapon against homesickness. ### Why the process matters It is not just about drying food; it is about keeping the nutrients intact. We use a professional sublimation process that removes 95% to 97% of water, which is how we manage to keep the texture and taste so close to fresh cooking. This is not simple dehydration, which often leaves food feeling rubbery or tasteless. By freeze-drying, we ensure the meal rehydrates perfectly in just three minutes with hot water. ### What travelers actually ask We hear a lot of questions about customs and practicality. The good news is that because our meals are lightweight and vacuum-sealed, they are easy to pack and generally travel well. We also focus on flat-packing options specifically for students, so you can fit more pouches into a single suitcase without the bulk. ### Pure and simple Our commitment is to transparency. No preservatives, no palm oil, and strictly vegetarian. Whether you are bringing your own favorite restaurant dishes to us for processing, or choosing from our pre-prepared menu, you know exactly what is going into your body. It is food you would feel safe feeding to your own kids or parents, made with the same ingredients you keep in your own kitchen pantry. ## About Desi Khana Hi, I’m Sheetal. I started this because I used to live on Maggi and theplas as an air hostess, and I know exactly how hard it is to find good food on the road. Now, I help families and students carry a piece of home with them, ensuring every packet is 100% natural and made with the love I’d cook for my own family.
