Designing it required careful planning to ensure it felt light despite its raw, heavy materiality. It bridges our open-plan kitchen and dining area, forcing a natural flow through the home that connects the living space to private zones. If you are considering an open-plan layout, the secret is ensuring vertical elements like staircases do not block natural light but instead guide it. We focus on creating homes that breathe. At Terra Gardens, the client wanted to move away from the city's noise, so we kept the material palette tight: stone, wood, and steel. This monochromatic approach prevents visual clutter, allowing the architecture to speak for itself. The kitchen island is designed for function and social interaction, not just preparation. We integrated cabinetry handles into the joinery to maintain the sleek, monolithic look. When choosing materials for a minimalist home, texture becomes your primary tool. The difference between a flat wall and one with lime plaster changes how a room feels at different times of day. In a bustling area like Indiranagar, homes often struggle to feel private. By creating dedicated zones using subtle flooring transitions and strategic lighting, we ensured the apartment feels like a detached villa rather than just another city unit. We approach every project as a dialogue. Tell us what your non-negotiables are, and we will build the space around them. ## About Design Boulevard We are Muzamil and Komal. Since 2012, we have been shaping spaces where people actually want to live, not just look at. We do not do cookie-cutter designs, and we certainly do not do fluff. We prefer raw conversations, real materials, and designs that stand the test of time.
