My team prioritizes zoning, integrating geometric stone pavers within artificial grass and low-level ambient lighting along planters, which ensures the terrace remains a practical, illuminated retreat well into the evening. ### Architectural Philosophy for Outdoor Living A penthouse terrace should not be treated as a residual space. I view these areas with the same rigor as an indoor living room. My design process involves careful massing and the placement of functional zones, such as dedicated seating decks, bar areas, and curated vegetable gardens. By utilizing a mix of textures—from exposed concrete to treated wood pergolas—we create a sense of continuity between the internal architecture and the open-air environment. ### Material Selection and Lighting We utilize materials for their ability to withstand the Delhi climate while maintaining aesthetic appeal. Stone cladding, glass railings, and timber trellises are selected for their durability and visual impact. Lighting is not merely an afterthought; it is integrated into the structural design. We utilize plant lighters and cove lighting at floor level to define perimeters and paths, creating depth and a panoramic view of the vicinity at night. ### Our Design-Build Advantage Since we handle the entire project from concept to construction, we ensure the technical integrity of your terrace. This includes critical aspects like structural load management for heavy planters, precise waterproofing, and seamless integration of electrical loops for automation. By managing the project end-to-end, we prevent the typical disconnect between a designer’s visualization and the builder’s execution, ensuring the final result matches the initial architectural intent. ## About Designarium Homes I am Shray Sahdev, the principal architect at Designarium Homes.
